Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This 19 meters long lighthouse is 141 years old and still operational. It has been constructed during Ottoman Empire by the French Lighthouse Directorate. It's one of the main touristic attractions in Sile. Though it was closed the day we visited, we still have been able to learn about it thanks to explanatory notes around it which were both in Turkish and English. This lighthouse is also the biggest one in Turkey based on its engine. It's a nice spot to take photographs as well.

If you want a guided tour for the black sea trip, DO NOT book with Azure Tours!
They said they will pick us up from our hotel between 8:00 and 8:30am. Someone did infact come at 8:30 but we waited outside with him for another 15 minutes until the bus actually came to pick us up. No-one explained anything that was going on, we were just picking others up from other hotels. Not until about 9:45 did they explain that there were different buses for different trips, and everyone went to the designated bus for their trip. All the tour guides at this point were rude and unprofessional while trying to organize this. I saw a customer arguing with one of them telling him he was very rude and the tour guide said so are you! We didn't get on the road until 10:00am!
I immediately noticed our tour guide was not wearing his tourism license around his neck as EVERY tour guide wears one (that I've been on, and I've been on a lot of trips in Turkey). Our tour guide didn't say anything about the trip e.g itinerary, distance, location, historical information, etc. As a surprise, his girlfriend/wife was on the bus with us and he was sitting next to her the entire time romancing her and avoided everyone on the bus. When we would stop at the sites, he would immediately run off with his wife and only tell us when to meet him back at the bus. He wouldn't explain anything about the sites and would stay as far as possible from us. Many times we were all in the bus waiting for him as he was still taking pictures with his wife at the sites. We decided to test him and asked him questions about a castle we saw. He got very uncomfortable and responded with "it's an old castle and they are renovating it" that's all he said.
When it was lunch time, we were all seated near a river and it was raining. There was a roof but it was outdoors so it was still cold and wet. He made us all sit there, while he went to a dryer more closed space with his wife.
Once we reached Istanbul, before anyone was dropped off at their hotel, he just got off the bus with his wife and that was the last of him! I am certain he is not a certified tour guide. In fact, I called the company and complained and said many times that he certainly is not certified and the person I spoke with never said he was.
Also, the bus was filthy both inside and out. All the windows were muddy to the point where we couldn't see outside. It was raining but if the windows were clean to begin with, the rain wouldn't of caused such a think layer of mud. We asked twice if they could clean them when we stopped for gas but they said it's going to get dirty again. We ended up wiping our windows with tissues ourselfs.
I've been on many guided tours with-in Turkey not only Istanbul, and have never experienced anything like this!

Having been in Istanbul for the past 5 months, this was the perfect place to get away to for a day trip with some friends. The lighthouse sits on a hill by the Black Sea and is really one of the most beautiful places I have been to. There's a beach near by as well and the town is small and really so charming. I would recommend Sile to everyone: families, couples, singles, etc.

A place with a great view of the black sea! Fresh air and cozy place. A small hand made shop with accessories to select from for yourself and beloved ones

A breathtaking view with nice panoramic sea side and spectacular sunset. I came here for sunset hunting to accompany my friend which is photographer. We found lots of nice spots to take pictures from sea view, the beach, the sile light house and people who visited this place. We found very friendly people with warm hearth and open arms welcoming us. A worth visit for only 1,5 hour by bus from Istanbul.

It has nice view but not so impressive for me. Because of the limitied car parking area it is almost impossible to visit at the first time.

it is a little away from the center so you should not miss this spot before ending your trip. It is actually working and it is fascinating at night.
