The gardens are very pleasant, but the palace is extraordinary. Photography is not allowed in the palace itself, which is a pity. I would liked a photo of the chandelier presented by Queen Victoria to the Sultan. It weighs 4 tonnes!

It is not in the main tourist aerea of IStanbul. The palace, has beautiful gardens, the building itself is amazing. The inside "decoration" is such a luxury, That you can hardly believe it.

Wow. A beautiful palace. really grand, lots of colonial furniture, grand staircases, beautiful chandeliers, huge rooms, lovely grounds, overall a must visit while in Istanbul. The moment you enter, you get a good feel of how the sultan's lived.
