Nothing special, neither good nor bad, I wanted to visit just to see that historic landmark. The sight of the bridge being stuck inside the sea didn't conform with the times of the Byzantine Empire, it was a little awkward. The crowded neighborhood as seen from the bridge isn't one of the best, but I guess one gets used to everything.

the best day trip in Constantinople !
1st purchase of the istanbul card from a kiosk or store.
2o credit money to the card by placing the card on the special space at the bottom right of the yellow machine and putting a banknote in the slot on the top right.
3rd go to the quay of Karakoy ( Karakoy iskelesi ) i.e. cross the Galata bridge with yeni camii behind you and when you cross it go to the right. Enter the covered quay and touch the card on the special entry machine. Look for the destination Eyup and see how much time the ship will come.
Let's note will be low ship because it will have to cross the bridge and ships with big masts cannot do that.

The place of Halic in Istanbul is really amazing. Next to amazing views of the water from both sides. Also the metro station of Halic is really great being located on a bridge. You can walk both ways and both ways are as amazing to walk to.

Halic is a major waterway, the primary inlet of the Bosphorus of Istanbul. Here, there are many ships on the slip from private owners and tour operators. We docked and left the harbor, overlooking the different ports. There is a maiden tower that is very visible on the island that is a major icon along the waters. This is the main port go get to the Bosphorus boat tours.

I've been to Istanbul several times and never traveled the Golden Horn (Halic). I read about the public ferry and we boarded. It costs a rapid transit token or a swipe of the Istanbulkart each way. The ferry makes 4-5 stops, crossing from one side of the Golden Horn to the other. We got off at Eyup, end of the line, and walked around. Eyup is a conservative community with a bustling shopping area. We had lunch and went to the Eyup Sultan Mosque, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Islam, according to the guidebook.
We returned to Eminonu by public bus, less interesting, but another experience!

The beauty of the Golden Horn ferry amongst many thing is that not many people know about this. Golden horn ferry (also know as Halic ferry) starts from the pier once you cross the Galata bridge. Istanbulkarts are accepted across all piers. Do stop by at the Istanbul ferry travel office which is opposite Eminonu to get a ferry schedule and map of the Golden horn which is great for reference. You can take the ferry to explore the historic neighborhood of Balata, Fenner etc. You may choose to get down at Avyansaray which is the stop for visiting the Chora Church - a good 25 min walk up from the pier. The last stop of the Golden horn ferry is at Eyup from which you can take a cable car to go to the Pierre Lotti cafe perched on the top of the mountains. This place offers fantastic sights of the Bosphorus. Highly recommended.

We decided to take a boat tour through the river. The boat tour was very inexpensive and was a excellent experience to see the Golden Horn. We only paid 60 Turkish Lira (around $30 USD) for four people. The trip allowed you to see many interesting attractions, famous hotels, park and also the Dolmabahce Palace from the water. A light weight jacket or a oversize scarf is a must for the boat trip.

Haliç, the tranquil creek also known as "Golden Horn" in the old times, hosts rowing clubs today. It is one of the best ways to start the day early here, with the Old City and the walls of Constantinople on one side.

We love to walk in order to get a feel for the place. so we decided the make a day of it and followed this itinerary: took the ferry to Eyup, walked-up to Pierre Loti -- climbing the hill is much faster than the cable car, which we took to go back down, from Eyup we walked towards the old city walls and followed them to the Chora Church, from the Church we walked through Balat all the way down to the boardwalk and then back along the boardwalk to Eminomou. We ended up walking approx. 15km in 6 hours (including breaks and visit at the Chora Church). If you have the stamina, this itinerary is highly recommended.

There will be a number of tour operators offerring boat service with english speaking guides. Stay away from them. They are extremely overpriced. They charge 10 to 20 Euros while the public transport is cheap at 1.95 TL. The boats are clean with good service of snacks and drinks. The prices are cheap and very reasonable. The upper deck is covered overhead and open on the sides so good for taking photos and protects you from the overhead sun. The lower deck is warmand completely closed. The boats are big and theres ample seating.
Entry fee : 1.95 TL (use your istanbul kart card) or buy jettoken at the counter
Opening Hours : Everyday. Boat timings is every 30 mins. Service less frequent on sunday.
Directions : Go to your closest pier. The boat doesn't stop at Sirkeci but it does in Karakoy and Eminou.

Hola, ya que vivis allá podrás guiarme. La navegación por el Cuerno de oro es la misma que la navegación por el Bósforo? No lo entiendo bien. Gracias por lo que puedas aportanrme.
