tried to go to the rooftop but the door was closed and nobody could help us (we had a turkish friend with us so it was not a matter of miscomunication)

But once you find the entrance you enter a totally new world. At the end you reach the coffeeshop and enjoy the interesting interior inside the cafe.

It is one of the old parts in Istanbul, before people used to go up there to take photos with a good view of city but recently the government closed it.

I am holidaying in Turkey. I went to this place today and they told me that it's closed now. Not allowed to go on roof.

The roof top is closed from the goverment. But it is possible to go on some ways up stairs to find another good views. See the picture.

The view from above is just wonderfuuuuullll . I am in love . Its a bit hard to find cz its outside the grand bazaar next to wholesale shops . You need to ask the locals 4 directions . Its a must when visiting istanbul...More

No it isn’t closed. There was a problem with one of the domes as people jumped up and down on it for photography and damaged it. But the Han is open and it is possible to go up to see the view from a different way.
