Must Visit if In Istanbul

This place is awesome, the quality of their product is second to none and you have to appreciate their focus on small villages to source their product.

I recently bought beautiful towels from Jennifer's Hamam, and received them within days. Jennifer was very good at communicating with me, and answered all my questions in a timely fashion. She has TWO shops in the Arasta Bazaar in Istanbul now (PLUS a new showroom) and people should look for the Cnd. flag in the window. All the textiles are... More

Very relaxing and fun experience. Haci was our sales rep and was absolutely hilarious and very helpful. Jennifer was very friendly as well as she offered us tea as we looked at all her products. Despite what a few people have written, I think the prices are reasonable considering the organic quality of items you are getting. Also,it's a fixed... More

Jennifer's is a great experience. A Canadian ex-pat, Jennifer has been re-vitilizing the Turkish weavers from villages outside Istanbul by encouraging and finding a market for the products. This was our 5th visit and we bought several items to bring home as gifts. She is currently looking into a project to open a weaving school. Their workshop and retail outlets... More

The prices are fixed, which in Istanbul is a blessing, it allowed me to have real conversations with the sales staff. There was no worry about needing to haggle at the end, no concern about hiding my budget or not being able to be clear with them about exactly what I wanted and could afford. On my first trip (December... More

I was in Istabul about 2 years ago. I had read about Jennifer's Haman and decided to check it out. I bought quite a few things. If you like textiles (towels, throws, scarves, robes) good quality items, and great customer service, this is the place for you. She has 2 shops in the Arasta Bazaar and a Showroom (3floors). Look... Great staff that have great knowledge of their products. No hard sell but then also no discounts! Nazreen was lovely and took us to the showroom and spent time to show all the products. Will have to visit again as no online shopping to the UK.!

Visited again this year. Nazrene, Heggi and Ahmad were just wonderfull. Had a large towel that matches a couple of hand towels I purchased five years ago and as good ad new. My wife got a pactemel that matches a body one she got last year. And just couldn't pass on five more :) We where unlucky to see Jennifer... More

We came across Jennifer's Hamam while visiting Istanbul five years ago. It was a special birthday, and I had money to spend. Impressed with both Jennifer's story and her products, I ended up buying two beautiful large bath towels. I've pretty much used them every day ever since (my old towels seem so naff by comparison) and they are still... More

I had heard of Jennifer's Hamam from several sources and knew that a visit was on my Must Do list during a fall trip to Istanbul. In fact, I went three times. And I would go again now if I could. I replaced decades-old frayed towels with exquisitely hand-loomed, thick and fluffy looped towels that are a joy to use... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
