We spent a few hours at the Tashkent Zoo last August while in the beautiful city. I usually enjoy zoo visits anywhere I go in the world, I understand the animals are not in the wild but a lot of time that is due to...More

Very nice place for family walk. Very clean. Just annoyed that you have to pay for the butterfly garden separately.

The Tashkent Zoo is never included to the list of Cultural Visits in tashkent but this is a nice place for having one day far from the usual, ordinary activities in the city.

another place where animal welfare and concern for habitat seems non-existent. Cages and enclosures are small and indifferent to the needs of the animals, both for comfort and stimulation. A depressing place for people who care about animals.

Yep that bad but unfortunately one of the very few attractions for families...so good to support it. And the keepers try hard..but it's a time warp from the 1950's

The square is not that big. They have aquarium, terrarium there, But most of the animals look starving, Bears are begging the bread :) So, take lots of bread for animals. It's funny and useful. For them.

The experience of the zoo starts when there are no tourist prices, but the local ones only. It feels like something real after all these artificial tourist attractions. Of course the cages are not animal friendly and especially the monkeys and the bears seem to...More

It is painful to see in what conditions they keep animals. They are truly suffering there, being kept away from their natural surroundings.
