Interesting to see but very limited, no signs or literature to explain history. You are going to need privet transportation to get there and there is a small entrance fee, very informal process and must be conducted in Turkmen or Russian language. The kind elderly...More

Fascinating ruins in a spectacular location. Large area, not well signposted so you need a guide. Could do with a toilet!

Long, interesting history. Well organized path to view it. Not a difficult walk. Excellent photo ops along the way.

In Ashgabat you can always stop any car, and negotiate with them to take you there. Since gas is very cheap there, it does not cost much to this method )))
