Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good prices and presentation packs of tea here. Many different tea companies are represented and there is a wider choice than I have seen anywhere else in Sri Lanka. Prices are very competitive! Worth a visit if you are serious about buying.

The store had a wide variety of tea on sale and I would say the price is reasonably priced. They have tea that comes in the form of loose tea leafs, enveloped tea bags as well as pyramid tea bags (limited). They also have different types of Ceylonese tea (i.e. BOP, Orange Pekoe, etc). The staff will not do hard selling and will not give you any recommendations - leaving you with some alone time to choose the tea on your own, which I prefer.
Overall, I would definitely recommend anyone to visit here if you do not need any recommendations from the staff. Store is easy to locate and is located somewhere along the road of Marino Mall’s main entrance.

This shop does have a reasonable range of teas. However, being a government or quasi-government body, the service cannot be worse! There was about 6 staff in the shop and none of them had any interest in helping customers. At 11 am in the morning, they were all snacking, checking their phone or talking to one another. Only one of them, a young lady in a sari, gave some help. I advise that you make your rounds elsewhere, then come to this place. Another thing, the house numbering on Galle Road is chaotic and absolutely crazy! 574 is not where you think it should be, that is, beyond, say, 474, but at the other end of the road! The staff I phoned did not have enough English to give meaningful direction. Luckily, our driver managed to get the directions in Singhalese from them over the phone.

The variety of tea is very large. They have all the tea districts represented however I found it lacking for single estate teas. They do have the advantage of many makes and sizes, which is good for gifting tea back home.
In spite of their being a hot water and tea cups they said that tea tasting was not possible, as I only wanted to buy the expensive one after trying it out.
The staff seemed uninterested in making sales but were knowledgeable about the placement of the teas within the store.

There were wide varieties both in price and quality. They also helped me in understanding the varieties and suggesting what to buy. Quite helpful and the visit is worth it. Just on the Galle road, it is easily locatable also. One should go atleast once. Back at home, I am finding the tea good and as suggested. Thanks to them.

Great collection of tea, gift collection at reasonable prices. A few mugs and souvenirs and tea sets but astronomical prices. Good place to stock up on Ceylon tea as well as English tea for your family.

I recently visited the Sri Lanka Tea Board. They have a very good range of tea and at good prices. It is not a large shop but has a very good selection of teas from around Sri Lanka.
The staff were very helpful and efficient.
Well worth a visit.

I did not see any strainers/infusers/mugs at the shop during my previous visit unfortunately. The Tea Board is strictly selling tea but not accessories. For accessories, you should try the exclusive tea shops (eg Tang, Mesna, Dilmah, etc) or tea shops at hotels (eg Hilton) or general shopping centres.
