One of the most popular places to visit in Colombo; also visit Seema Malaka in close vicinity

Iconic place of Buddhist worship. Open to everyone regardless of faith for an entry fee of 100 LKR. One can also visit Seema Malaka in close vicinity using the same entry ticket.

This is one of the ancient and famous Bhudhist temples in Colombo. You can witness various antique stuffs, ornaments, etc. Gangaramaya hosts an annual pageant every year and attracts locals and tourists to witness this pageant. Don't forget to meet the young jumbo ( baby elephant) outside the temple.

Since nothing much in Colombo, you can spend some time here. I will personally rate it not a must visit place but good. It has a good vibe and peaceful aura like any other Budhist temple. Nice arhitecture. However, ticket at temples is something which was a put off for me.
