Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A prominent Hindu temple in Colombo that boasts some fine pieces of architecture. They also have a wedding reception hall that has the capacity to accommodate more than 1000 guests with air conditioned interior. It also has a massive parking space within premises with security. The dining area is spacious, and well maintained. An elegant venue with prestige.

Managed to get a photo of this Temple as we passed by. Like other Hindu Temples, it is highly ornate with a variety of sculptures and intricate designs and painted in a riot of colour. The gopura above the entrance is highly decorative and eye-catching.

At the end of a dead end road, you certainly need to take a Tuktuk or similar to get there. Be aware of open hours, which are not clearly stated on the internet. When I visited they were closed between 12-16.
But interesting structure even though I couldn’t get inside.

Just a heads up, as of December 26th, the temple is under renovations and the carvings are covered with tarps. It is closed and the construction completion date is unknown.

One of the oldest Hindu temple in colombo. Huge temple with great architecture. There are two temples, one is the old one and another one the new one.

Wonderful Hindu Temple in the middle of the Pettah area of Colombo. Another gem that we just came across when shopping in the Pettah market area.
You will need to take off your shoes and be sensibly dressed to get in. Once inside there are three shrines to see, one with and eagle, one with a peacock and finally one with a cow. Unfortunately no one spoke English so we couldn’t find out any other information. It was very peaceful and there were many locals praying and making offerings

This is a well known and popular Hindu Temple, located near the Beira Lake. The temple closes in the afternoon around lunch time and reopens in the late afternoon hours. The temple is built in typical South Indian style of Architecture, with a very impressive Gate Tower.
