Wilpattu is an interesting national park to visit. It is very scenic with lots of lakes and forest. We did two safaris, one in the morning and one late afternoon. We had to stay in the park all day and our driver provided a delicious lunch made by his wife. In all we would have been driving eight hours. We... More

we group of 10 visited this place recently in Dec/2016. It didn't took much time to reach there from Colombo. from Katunayaka expressway, it was matter of reaching Putlam and then take the road to Anuradhapura. halfway through you will find the left turn that will lead to Wilpattu. We spent the night in Thalawila Bunglow, belongs to Department of... More

I made the mistake of staying at Sinharagama Resort close to the park on Puttalam Rd assuming it would be easy to arrange a safari with the hotel and hookup with other safaris to split the costs. Instead I was quoted 7500 for a half day and 12500 for a full day by the hotel manager and told all costs... More

We group of 10 ppl stayed in wildlife bungalow inside the Wilpattu park. It was a great experience for all of us. The bungalow was clean and the staff was very friendly. Few key things to remember was that, you need to bring clothes to keep you warm, specially in the night and the early morning safari. its a bit... More

Great park, gorgeous views, adventurous trip. There isnt an abundance of animals, so its exciting to look for them during the drive. Our driver was superfriendly and was great in spotting small animals and birds for us. The elephants were easy to spot ourselves. :) We saw deers, tons of different birds, elephants, large iguanadons, and an alligator on a... More

This is one of the best wildlife park in Sri Lanka and famous for leopards. Good for bird lovers and nature lovers.

History says that when an Indian King was sent to Sri Lanka for religious activities the head devil was women named Kuveni. The fell in love with Yakkas & married her. They had 2 children. Interesting palace inside Wilpattu National Park on the way to Kudiramale

Great place to visit! Excited to experience elephants in the park. Wonderful opportunity for bird watching and enjoying the scenery too. Spotted some leopard paw prints but an actual sighting escaped us this time. Worth a look!! Shame about the drunken young blokes who were fighting near the toilets. More security to deal with this please- takes away from the... More

What a place on the earth... this park is just wild. The best is to go early in the morning at 6 so that you can see as many as animals. We have seen about 35 different animals including a leopard sleeping on our way. The paths are narrow and branches of the trees are often covering so be careful... More
