Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There is so much to learn about Buddhism and a great deal to see in this lovely Monastery, Well worth a visit and take at least 2 hours.

This can be the main part of a wonderful day trip from UB. The nature is beautiful in this area, but the main attraction must be the hugely interesting rock carvings and Monastery complex. Highly recommended, take the time to explore fully.

Just a couple of hours from UB off the highway north. I probably wouldn't make a separate trip just to visit the monastery, but if you are passing nearby, it makes for a great stop for an hour or so. The monastery building itself is rather small, but worth going inside to see the large stone around which the building was constructed. Also, upstairs, are some fascinating wood carvings and paintings. The views down the valley from the monastery are fabulous.

The view is better than the Monastery itself. It is a very nice walk towards the temple and if you are in the neighborhood you should pay a visit but don't take a detour to get there.

Go there if this is on the way. It has some nice paintings and artifacts but photography is not allowed inside. Provides some nice views of the countryside from the top of the hill. Wear comfortable shoes and get there if you are fit to climb.

It is one of the nice places to visit. It located near by Bornuur soum Tuv province 92 km from north west of Ulaanbaatar. Entrance fee is 5000 under the age12. There are many interesting and amazing mythical animals carvings made by wood roots and stones surrounding the mountain that is called Garid.

We went on a rainy day and the views were still spectacular, so I can only imagine how the whole park looks like on a sunny day. After the drive up, we walked up to the monastery and looked around. The monastery itself isn't that unique or special. What is special about this site is the Buddhist statues and arts carved into the mountain and the trails that loop around the mountain. You go from awesome views of the valley to meeting a female Buddha carved into a stone, through the trees past animal statues. Its peaceful, pleasant and a chance for everyone to get in touch with nature.
We went with older children and some seniors. The seniors could happily do the lower level trails but the higher ones were a bit too much. We passed many familys with small children (3ish) so as long as you keep an eye on them, you'll be fine. The only downside is the drive out from Ulaanbaatar but once you're there its worth it, and with a packed lunch its a good place for a picnic before or after your walk. Bring comfortable walking shoes, your feet will thank you.
This may be hard to find, so to help here is more info about its location: The coordinates are 48.4463837 106.1248542, its Mongolian name is Aglag Buteeliin Khiid. It is about 2 and a half hour drive north west of Ulaanbaatar. Its a single lane tarmac road all the way, then you turn off onto a gravel road for the last 5km to get to the entrance gate and the site car park. From the car park, you have a steep 1km walk up to the main building and the start of the mountain trails.

This monastery is very much worth the visit. It will take at least two hours to get there, but it is a must see. The grounds are very interesting and the monk in residence was talking with people the day I visited. There are ducks, rabbits, and other animals around the grounds. You can hike around and see different carvings in rocks.

Since I do not see an English review, I thought that it would be best to provide one.
From what I understand, the monastery is less than a decade old. Someone can likely confirm the actual date. You do require a car to get to this monastery, and there is a 10 to 15 minute hike to the monastery on a rough dirt road that is inaccessible by car. It is steep but manageable. It is not accessible by wheelchair. Once there, the monastery is free to visit inside which contains many nice paintings, and paintings on the walls and pillars which were done by a famous Mongolian artist.
The main room contains a historic/spiritual rock. The second floor also has some nice displays, which is accessed by a steep set of stairs. The last room on the second floor has taxidermy of mythical animals comprised of combined animal skins. It was explained to me that these are real by the monastery guide who follows you along in the upper floors. I would suggest that they are not, but I am not an expert in taxidermy.
Outside the temple, there is a walking path with many nice stone carvings. This part of the monastery is still being completed so you will see recently completed rock carvings, and the sound of power tools still carving new ones. The view is beautiful overlooking the valley below so I would recommend taking the path. There are some areas of the path that pass below rock formations, so if you are 6' and over 200Ibs, it might be a bit difficult to pass through. As an alternative, there are ways around these rock passages so you just have to look for them as you scramble up the paths. Anyone with a modest level of health can easily walk these paths above the monastery.
