A lovely temple right in the heart of the city as many are. At the gates though there are statues which make this one slightly more unique for Laos, ( more Thai style).

Because wats are everywhere, simple wat as this becomes so common and the peculiarity and specialness of them is lost.

No admission fee. Can walk around the grounds first and take photos. Must remove shoes before entering the temple. Easy to stop here when walking in the city.

Located downtown among many restaurants, bars and the Mekong...this pretty little temple is both a school and a place of worship. Not as grand as other Lao temples, but ok for a short visit if in the neighborhood.

Means in that case : All will depend on what kind of temples one have seen already. So let's say perhaps more clear : To make one of this temples really interesting to see, i do expect not only a nice "building", with a big and golden Buddha inside, but mostly i would like to have what i use to... There are a lot of beautiful temples in Vientiane, and this is one. There are however, no exhibits or information in English, so to appreaciate it and know what is what, a guide would be good.

If your time here is limited then this is one of the few places worth a visit. One of the more interesting wats.

Located along Seethathilath Road, this is one of the few temples along this road. A nice and peaceful temple with typical Laotian architecture and roof style. Colourful and well maintained, it is a working temple and there is a school here as well.

I maybe wrong, but this temple looks not so much to see, just an ordinal temple. But this is my beloved spot and I stayed under the tree of the temple court so many times, hours, with some book or Sudoku puzzle, or just escape from the heat. The temple is also used as a junior school, can see these... More
