Nothing special. Just a stupa in the middle of the town. Does serves as a location land mark though.

An ancient monument, which is on a roundabout (unprotected) with cars parked all around it. It seems That Dam has been overgrown by the urban jungle. Still, it is different and worth a look.

Located in an urban setting, sort of like a roundabout for traffic, this ancient stupa sits alone amongst the restaurants and offices in the city sprawl. While not as impressive as some of the other religious/spiritual sites this location nonetheless is a good example of ancient spirituality and construction. In some ways the raw energy emitted by this site more... More

Laos temple. Laos temple. Another Laos temple... Black stupa? Built to ward people from evil? A bit worn down but really different from the others? Looks great?! YES PLEASE!

The location is quite surprising because it's right in the middle of the city, with restaurants and hotels around it. There's a lot of history behind it and this is my favorite stupa as it is just made of stone. I'm happy that they never had to renovate this stupa. Its oldness is its charm.

We walked passed the street next to it. I saw that and wanted to have a look. It's quite unusual to see a shrine like this one. It's cover in plants and seems abandoned but in the middle of the "city". If you're around go and say hi, if not, I wouldn't bother :)

Found this a bit haunting. Like a remnant from a bygone era. This being a historic place can use a bit more TLC from the people that takes care of historical sites.l other then that , it was a great experience.

I echo others' sentiments. It was walking distance from my hotel and on the way of the start of my own walking tour. The area is very sketchy and obviously it is old and significant but they have not done a good job maintaining or marketing it. When compared to other places in Vientiane this was a little bit of... That Dam probably feels more ancient than it is, but it was still interesting. A surprisingly unmaintained stupa near the heart of Vientiane, it is in a fairly ordinary neighborhood. Easy to find, access. and enjoy a trreat at the nearby Scandinavian cafe.
