It's the most peaceful I've ever been. You should rent a bicycle to ride around slowly to enjoy the local life. Also, you should get to the top of Tower to have an overview of quarter and city.

Better visit after 4 pm, fountains start working around 5pm & best time to take photos. That is the busiest time though

I believe that the French gave funds to Laos to build a new road or a bridge and instead they built this Arche de Triomphe type structure with Champs Elysees-style view down to the Palace. Bless them. Great views of the city.

This is a wonderful building that I've not seen any where before. With large green park and beautiful fountain where you can take pictures or relax. Specially, when you are standing on the top of it you can see the nice views of Vientiane city.
