Learnt so much here about the history of Laos, and how the events of the past still have an impact on its people in the present. The centre provides a good educational visit and is deeply moving. It's inspiring to see the work the people...More

We all 'enjoyed' our visit to the COPE center. The kids found it really interesting and watched all the videos. For us, a highlight in Vietiane.

You knew that Laos was damaged in the Vietnam war. You knew there are ongoing consequences. You don't know half of it. You will be shocked. The circumstances of how it happened, the extent of the damage and the extent of the ongoing consequences will...More

As a traveler it's easy to just enjoy what a country and it's people has to offer you, without sparing too many thougths on their history and current dilemmas. A place like COPE reminds you about the injustice of the American Secret War and the...More

This small museum documents the results of the "secret war" in Laos and the continuing response. Emotionally moving.

The museum has no fee but you can buy something from the store to support its actions. Very interesting. We were very lucky to find it because the road has no numbers and the museum is in the internal ''yard'' of a building, hospital if...More

The COPE centre is without doubt the No1 must-do thing in Laos. Read this carefully. The US made 580,000 bombing missions on Laos for 9 years of the Vietnam war. The equivalent of one mission every 8 minutes, 24/7, for NINE YEARS!! About 30% of...More

It's worth to visit & there is no entrance fee. You can purchase any things from there and all the funds will go to charity.

Easy to find in Vientiane. Very hard to learn about the bombs in the country and the on going destruction wrought by them but very educational. Shows the good work they are doing with prostheses in Laos. It takes about an hour or slightly less...More

This was really interesting. I had no idea that Laos had been so heavily impacted by unexplored bombs during the Vietnam War. The statistics of injured & killed Laos victims is very high and so many areas yet to be cleared. COPE is doing a...More
