We did the 1 day tour from Pakse, organised through one of the many tour operators on the main road. USD 15 per person covered the vehicle, English speaking driver and water. The waterfalls were probably the only stops worth the visit , but nothing totally spectacular. Otherwise the tea and coffee plantation was terrible - our "guide" just pointed... More

Experience this Agricultural Plateau. There are so many different things to do ... Visit the Bolaven Plateau Coffee Producers Cooperative. ... A MUST . . Champel Coffee Arabica + Robusta and the nice Highland Tea. Organic & Fairtrade certified coffees - higher quality with specs for export loads. Stay a while have a great Arabica with some Snacks.

The Bolaven Plateau was a little disappointing for us. Especially compared to some of the beautiful Laos landscapes in Nong Khiaw, Vang Vieng, and around Tha Khek, the plateau was quite boring. Essentially it's a lot of agricultural land with views of nothing but the occasional small hill. There are some ok waterfalls (though we missed Tad Fan as it... More

Worth visiting the waterfalls! Need your own transport to really enjoy it. Not far from pakse so it can be a one day one night side trip although it's worth staying longer.

A motorbike trip through the Bolaven Plateau is a great way to enjoy Laos at your own pace. Out of Pakse there are 2 suggested loops taking 2-3 days or 3-4 days depending on your pace. We did the larger loop as well as a visit to Champasak in 3 full (very full) days but we don't know how to... More

My girlfriend and I recently took a trip to Southern Laos. Overall we were not highly impressed with Laos, so take this review with a grain of salt if you're loving your trip. We visited during Songkram (Water Festival) and I think that this has a lot to do with the negative experience. The people of the Bolaven region had... More

Most reviewers talk about their bike loop but I didn't research that much beforehand so to rent one. Instead I took the tour on offer from the Lao Adventure Travel Co located on road 13 close to the Lao Development Bank. The price was 150,000LAK which I found pretty good considering it covered all entrance fees and water. We only... More

I've been alone by motorbike on that plateau to spend few days building a camp in the forest. Nature is beautifull there with increadible fauna and flora diversity. Don't miss the waterfalls! But that's almost impossible, you will find some all around you. On the way from Pakse, you can buy food and tools (machete) in different villages along the... More

We rented our bikes from Ms. Noy and attended the briefing at 6pm for an detailed description of the tour itself. Since we had time, we did the small loop in 3 days / 2 nights, although 1 night in Tad Lo would also be possible. The first day driving is rather boring but offers some nice views from the... More
