Looks nice, look closer

From a distance one would think it is quite impressive, but I was not so impressed by the poor finishing when you get closer. Still, a nice place to visit and walk.

From a distance one would think it is quite impressive, but I was not so impressed by the poor finishing when you get closer. Still, a nice place to visit and walk.

The new Kazahstan town Astana ex. Tselinograd was start to build in 1994...Strange architecture, poor quality but impressive buildings. No people, no soul. Cold and very expensive,like whole Astana. When you must go is ok....In one word: Bizarre!!!

The Astana Allee (not sure if it is really called that) is the equivalent of the government mall in Washington DC - intended to impress foreign heads of state (and tourists). It is a job well done with the atmospheric Baiterek view tower centrally positioned, looking over a long and well adorned mall to the presidential palace on the one... More
