    Monument
This wasn’t too far from where I was staying so I checked it out. As previous reviewers have said, it’s on a busy roundabout (think a bit like the Arc de Triomphe). Some of the photos people have uploaded are for the very close by, but different, statue of ‘the father king’. The Independence Monument doesn’t feature a person. Wouldn’t say that you should go out of your way to see if, but if you’re near the river, it’s worth a quick stop for a photo or two.

A beautiful monument to learn about the history of Cambodia
The monument of the independence of Cambodia is beautiful the day and the night. You can't really visit it because it's a roundabout but seeing it in real life is quite appreciable when you come to Cambodia, it's one of the places to absolutely see. I think it is a source of pride for the country, and thanks to this roundabout, one can learn more about the history of Cambodia (when French colonised Cambodia).

    Independence Monument
The Independence Monument is located at one end of a large park in the city centre. At the other end is an elaborate monument to King Norodom Sihanouk. The Monument commemorates Cambodia's independence on 9th November, 1953, for which Sihanouk played a significant role.

The Independent Monument is an iconic structure in Phnom Penh symbolizing Cambodia's in dependent from France. It is a great place for quick stop a photo opportunity, especially at night when it is beautiful illuminated. The surrounding park is also a nice place to relax and take in the city's atmosphere.

Do visit if you have time - it's nice
Symbolizing Cambodias independence the Monument is in a well spaced park that allows you to walk around and you could cross the road to visit the statue on the other side. Significant for its representation and importance for what it stands for. Do visit if you have the time it might amaze you. Afternoon is better

It doesn't take too long to visit here but it can be quite noisy as traffic passes on both sides of the monument. I would recommend visiting early in the day as it can be hot and there is no shelter. At night it also looks impressive as it is well lit and a nice area to stroll around.

The Independence Monument stand in the heart of the City. It is in the middle of a large round about so we never made it fully over to its but armoire it from a distance. It was built in 1958 to Symbolize Cambodian Independence Day. We went for a walk on a Tuesday evening and were surprised that there were mostly locals there. Seemed like it would be a high tourist spot. A ladies dance group and people playing something like hackie-sac and beautiful fountains. It was a really fun spot to sit, enjoy and people watch. Great place to spend the evening.

This was designed by renowned Khmer architect Vann Molyvann. Built in 1958 to celebrate the Cambodia Independence from France in 1953. It's in a roundabout at the intersection of two major streets so it's impossible to miss. Most people just drive by because there's no parking area near it.The pulsating colored lights and fountains around it are interesting and some might want to take photos of it when it is floodlit at night.

From a historical standpoint this is an important piece of Cambodia's history, although once you get past that you aren't going to be spending very much time here.

What I will say is that during the evening and night it's a very nice place to go for a jog or just walk with friends and family. The reason it has a lower score though is that it's not very accessible due to the busy intersections it is in the middle of, as well as the fact that a evening / night walk along Riverside is just as nice and way more accessible.

The independence monument is located in the middle of a roundabout on a recently renovated avenue. The care taken over this avenue and the monument are in stark contrast to the rest of the city which is left to its own devices. Suggestive in the evening as it is well lit.

I wouldn’t make a special trip out to see this. It is far from most other sites but near Royal Palace. We just had our touk touk driver stop for 5 minutes so we could take a picture. Very busy circular driveway similar to the Arc de Triompe.
