About
MAO’s bar was born in 2010 in an ancient rice warehouse from the end of the 19th century. This unique venue of 500m2 is located in the heart of Phnom Penh, along the Riverside (Sisowath Quay) and nearby to the famous Night Market. You can play pool or electronic dart games with your friends while drinking cold draft beers and sipping our delicious cocktails; or watch sport events broadcast on one of our 9 screens while enjoying our delicious food from 5pm until 1am. Our hostesses will greet you in a nice cozy atmosphere with extra cold beers, an amazing spirits selection, smiles and kindness all night long. We also program live music every week. Enjoy our HAPPY HOURS from 5pm to 8pm Anchor [draft $1] [jug $4] [tower $10] Russian Standard Vodka [$2.5] The MAO’s MUST, is the biggest and best selection of Whiskies in Cambodia. More than 350 different Whiskies are displayed in our “Whisky Library”. We are open 7/7 from 5pm to 1am. At Mao's, we are always pleased to welcome you!

I really liked This bar, the drink are good, good really good. Cool atmospher, nice people and good music taste ! I like the wisky choice as well ! I Can only recommand this place.

Went to watch the football. Several big screens - showing variety of world sports.
High ceiling & fans help clear smoke.
DJ Jon from France is also the owner - he speaks very good English & makes sure everyone has a good time.
Enjoyed 2:1 Heineken’s all night & finished off with a fabulous Scotch Whisky - Cardinal.
Also had a plate of Pad Thai style noodles - a touch greasy but very tasty!

Generally, Phnom Penh is still very much a smoking city. Mao/s Bar has probably the highest ceiling amongst all bars in Phnom Penh and it real helps to ease the smokes especially for the non smoker.
It does provide some ladies to have a drink with you if you need one but rest assured they will never disturb you unrequested... unlike most other bars.
Owner is a french who lives in this part of the world for 20 over years.

I went there for the whisky selection and it is amazing. The bar is nice and spacious. I would not drink beer there as it is expensive even before they add on tax or whatever it is.

A cozy bar for a good evening of conversation with friends or just after work. Not as dingy as some of the girlie bars on street 130 or 136, so it's alright to bring the significant other here.
Excellent selection of single malt whiskies, and food. So try the roast pork belly, or siew yoke. Also good selection of Malaysian food including Hokkien Mee, Char Kuey Teow and Satay.

I had a date with my Valentine at Mao's. Everything was perfect.
Excellent food paired with a superb wine bottle from France.
The athmosphere is warm and romantic, the music is smooth.
We played pool for free and darts.
They also have a wonderful whisky collection, I want to go back there to go back there to try some next time.
Recommended for for sure.

I have stayed there many times during my 2 last trips in Phnom Penh, as : the local team is fabulous (JP, Charly and Victor), the wall of Whisky is so wide with so much choice for a unique tasting experience (more the 1000 different brands), food linked to the MAO kitchen is also very good (tasty, with nice spices and chilli, pork belly is wonderful !!!, shrimp donuts are excellent, and noodles are lovely …), we also have had a nice cigar experience : was great, with some particular cognacs …
And to accompaign your trip Inside this MAO's Bar, you have so much choice between playing darts, having a billard party with pretty sexy ladies who are all beautiful … you might fall in love and get married at the end, as they are so much marvelous and warmly smiling … YOLO

Opens at 5pm till late, happy hour up to 8pm. The pool tables are free. There is electronic darts machines too.
With the Widest whisky collection of Cambodia for sure.
It's a perfect watering hole with finger food, games, live sports and friendly staff. 5 stars.

The best place to drink with friends. The venue offers whisky with a selection of more than 350 different bottles. Giant screens with live sports, pooltables, dart games, nice music and friendly staff. Even some promotions during happy hour on drinks or bottle sets.

Was at a Night Market in Phnom Penh with crazy Lynn Lai who wanted to buy the entire supply of lace in Phnom Penh 🤣
When we were done, we were thirsty & spotted Mao's Bar almost next to the Night Market.
Headed over there & we had a FABULOUS time !!!! Excellent selection of liquor & playing very good quality music !!!!!
Met David Said, who was DJ-jng there that night, & also the owner, Jean-Charles Franchi, who let us perform selector duties for a while 🤣🤣
Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, will defo go back there on our next trip !!!! 😎
