The Flicks Community Movie Houses are the really unique locations in Phnom Penh where you can enjoy the blockbusters, documentaries and the classics on a big wide screen, in "uber-comfy" air conditioned movie rooms, from before there were big cineplexes.

The Flicks are the ONLY legit movie houses in town also, fully approved by the Ministry of Culture and the Cambodian Department of Cinema.

The Flicks 1 on Street 95 is the legendary movie house from the time there was no other big screen in town, located in an original wooden Cambodian house and features an all air conditioned bar and a leafy outside terrace. Its movie room seats 30 people.

The Flicks 2 is its little brother in the city center and also screens the must-see movie for all visitors, The Killing Fields, daily in its 20 seats movie room.

The Flicks 3 is the latest 30-seats venue on Street 258, which also features a restaurant and guesthouse.

Enjoy your movies for only $3.50 Per day, with a drink, snacks and homemade fresh popcorn!

Great place for current and historical movies; check out the documentaries! This was a great alternative for me to learn about the genocide without visiting the killing fields or the genocide museum, which are heavy and gruesome. Seeing the documentary was the alternative I chose; I believe they show it daily as well as other choices.

It was a fun way to end the night! The movie house can accomodate less than 20 people feels exclusive which was great. Having spent the day in the museum and understanding what happened to Cambodia in recent history this place balanced the emotion. Although we also watched the movie "Killing Fields" which btw is always shown here. It was... More

The circumstances in which I visited The Flicks was less that great - On the way I experienced a downpour and being the unique person I am, I managed to break my toe by running into a curb. So upon my arrival I was in a bit of pain. The guys were so great. I still managed to watch my... More

House 2 of the movie House has a usually screening of 1984 "The Killing Field". It would be a good plan to watch it before or after you go to the Killing Field. The movie house is not big and couches are placed on the stairs. You may lay down or sit on the couch. You better go on time... More

Loved this cinema, you can grab a cider and popcorn and relax on the mats as there are no chairs. Watched the movie the killing fields which is a must if you're in Phnom Penh!

Visited The Flicks 3 and had a great night relaxing and enjoying a movie. We were the only ones in our session so got a private show. The intimate theatre was great to watch and also spread out and relax like you wouldn't be able to in a traditional theatre. For the price, it is a very god eperience and... More

We looked this up as a low key way to spend the evening. For $3.50 you can see as many movie as you want through the day!! The beds are comfy little loungers, the movies are a recent and interesting mix, the staff are super friendly! Great idea!

Flicks is very comfortable with cushion beds to watch movies and plenty of snacks available (lovely popcorn popped in coconut oil). Choice of movies is limited, and there was some miscommunication - we were told we were seeing the Killing Fields but ended up seeing an old Film noir Blue Velvet which we would never have chosen to see.

we watched the killing fields in this cinema. It was a different way to watch a movie. We used the futon type mattresses on the floor and found them not particularly comfortable. We did enjoy the food and drinks during the movie however.

In a few weeks in Phnom Penh I saw several movies at two of these great theatres (Flicks 1 and 2) and I also went to the Empire Theatre nearby. As I understand it the theatres used to be all owned by the same expats but one went their own way and became the Empire. All the theatres have great... More
