Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went there in the afternoon where it was too hot and humid, however, we took some photos and came back again when dark

This was one of many self-indulgent tributes to the Sultan of Brunei scattered around the small town of Bandar Seri Begawan and was impressive with its gleaming gold appearance and prominent position. This one celebrated the Sultan's 60th birthday and from what I have read means long life. The town was interesting and different and perhaps a little weird with all the monuments and lavish displays but not great for tourists.

Hard to miss, when walking on Jalan McArthur by Bandar Seri Begawan's riverfront is a gilded monumental fountain, called in Malay: 'Mercu Dirgahaya 60', which means 'Long Life, Your Highness 60 Monument', which had been erected in 2006 for the 60th birthday of the actual Sultan. The tall bent column shows the number '60' in Arabic. At night the monument is illuminated.

This monument was built to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Sultan of Brunei. if you pay close attention you will see the number 60 written in Arabic. You will find photo opportunities facing the waterfront, with shops and restaurants close by.
