A tribute to the sultan and the grand trappings of Royalty, this museum is a highlight of any trip to Brunei. The main gallery presents an impressive recreation of the coronation of His Majesty The Sultan, displaying the gilded carriage which carried the newly crowned Sultann through the streets of the capital city, along with gold and silver ceremonial armour.

The Royal Exhibition Gallery showcases a selection of Royal Regalia from His Majesty's childhood days up to the time of his coronation, such as jewel-encrusted crowns, thrones, garments and His Majesty's revered silver Keris (dagger).

The Silver Jubilee Gallery celebrates the mark of His Majesty's 25th ruling year. Here, one can view film footage of the auspicious event, amongst other Royal Regalia that made an appearance during the occasion.

There is also the Constitutional History Gallery, which houses documents, photographs, film and recordings, and a gallery devoted to the life of His Majesty The Sultan up to the time of his coronation.

A free showplace for not only his Majesty's regalia but the carriages and costumes, shields, etc. as well. There are also a lot of the gifts from foreign dignitaries as well. And these reviewers who think the TripAdvisor certificates are gifts.....they're simply like the cash register showing visa/mastercard/amex signs..... It is cool inside, you have to take your shoes off,... More

A great collection of gifts presented to the Sultan....It is always interesting what each leader that visited the Sultanate had to present to the Sultan. Some are extravagant. Some are strange. All is interesting.

A reasonable place to spend a few hours, and there are some interesting objects. Photography is prohibited in most of the exhibition rooms (but allowed in the main hall). But of course there is a single theme for this museum, which can get a bit monotonous after a little while.

Just experience it from the outside afar (looks nice though). The place was close when we saw it from our vehicle so we didn't bother to alight anymore. Just not sure if this place is close during Sundays or just that particular day (Feb. 5, 2017 Sunday afternoon).

Although one could easily mistaken this as the Brunei Museum (located in Kota Batu), this Museum stores the gifts presented by the world leaders to His Majesty. One of the tour guide I was tailing behind mentioned that although the items in there are replicas, some of the them are also made out of gold (the same as the original).... More
