The muesum; isnt as great as the the Royal muesum. It doesnt have artifacts except for lots of reading on the history of Brunei. It is interesting to see how instrumental Brunei was for the trade and the efforts by James Cook. If you have time visit; but not worth going out of your way to see.

There are some interesting sections in this museum, but as others have mentioned alot of it has little or no English. That said it does give one a bit of an idea about Brunei history so if you have some spare time you could spend 30-60 minutes out of the heat and learning a few historical facts.

A must for who is interested in history. History is told a little in their fovor, but I didn't mind. That goes for every country. It was a good museum.

Although many panels are not in English, enough are to give you a great sense of Brunei's historic significance as a major trading post in Northern Borneo. The exhibition is free although you are required to remove your shoes and put on slippers (I recommend wearing socks as many people have worn these slippers.) The exhibits trace the history of... Being my very last morning in Bandar Seri Begawan on 13/07/16 before checking out of my local accommodation I had a few hours to kill, decided on visiting Brunei History Centre a 10 min walk away from my hotel. On entering the staff were friendly enough & free admission. However walking around on 2 levels there's not much to read... More

Located next to the building containing the Royal Regalia Museum (on Jalan Sultan) is a more humble (white) residential type abode housing the Brunei History Center. Opened in 1982, the center is briefed to research the history of Brunei, which indirectly would mean the history of the ruling family. As such, much of the work conducted has been on establishing... You may drop by Brunei History Centre after going to Royal Regalia Museum. They're almost beside each other. This is a small museum that mostly contains important documents in Bruneian history, old maps, and a few artifacts. Honestly, I slightly got bored with this museum. I just gave around 10-15 minutes of my time then left. Anyway good thing it's... More

Located near the Royal Regalia Building is the Brunei History Centre. The building containing the history centre is not as impressive Royal Regalia nor are the displays as impressive nor as well translated into English for the English speaking visitor. The are many documents displayed (and a few artefacts) such as old maps, treaties, and more. The history buff would... More

Their is a wonderful book shop here. Most times it has the OPEN sign flashing but you have to go to reception for someone to open the shop. They have several free exhibitions going at present and if you are interested in the country you have visited they are well worth seeing. It is at the back of the Royal... More
