If you are walking from old town to some of the other monuments, you will see a small square with this statue. It is interesting up close.

Check out all the figures on the sculpted head. It is a creative piece of art in honor of a beloved writer.

A part of our Old City Tour, after visiting Shirvanshahs’ Palace, stopped for few minuets near a great statue of a famous poet named Vahid. Our guide gave us a brief about his activity during the revolution

I must admit this huge portrait statue drew my attention although I've never heard of this poet. I bumped it while exiting the old town beneath the Shirvashah's palace by the Miniature books museum. Pay attention to many details on his hair.

It is just a Statue (but a nice one) maybe you would like to visit if you know the poet or on the way looking around the old city...

This poet's monument gets better when seen from up close. The details of the portrait is beautiful, especially the hair part. Don't miss it while in the old town.
