It it is a tower built during 12th century and is still holding strong even today in the 21st century. The tower is on the UNESCO Heritage sites list and it was built as part of the Fortress in the city of Baku. The entry fee is 15 manats which is three times the price they charge for a local. One of the beautiful places of Old city Baku is Maiden Tower. From top of the tower you will see panoramic view of the city. Be ready to take steps up to see that beauty. Entrance fee is 10 manat for foreigners. There are lots of interesting things around the tower, don't miss it.

This is the most famous landmark of old Baku. With many stories regarding its history or name, the truth remains uncertain. But still we have the massive structure that beautifully lies at the footstep of old Baku, facing the shores of the Caspian sea.
No visit to Baku is counted without admiring this place and if you have some extra time, why not visit it from the inside!

Mmmm.... Maiden Tower is in all the guide books as one of Baku's must do's, but I was somewhat non-plussed. Sure, the views are good, but there are multiple opportunities for much better views across the city, including at the nearby restaurant/teahouse, Cay Bagi 145. It's a slog up 8 floors of windy, precarious steps, which require you to stoop so not to hit your head, & the downward traffic uses the same skinny stairway. When you reach the top, a perspex shield lines the tower, so your photos are taken through it. The ticket booth is adjacent - 4AZN for locals, 15 AZN for foreigners.

This iconic landmark should not be missed. The morning provides the best photo opportunities when the light is lower and comes from the Caspian sea. AS for going in...There are actually a quite good display of the history of the tower, that once didn't have any floors but does now. The stairs up are not so hard to climb and you get a good possibility to rest on each floor. As for the on the top...it is ok, but not so spectacular.

Great views from the top of the tower. As you climb the tower there was information on most levels so the climb up was staggered. Information was ok although not particularly interesting. Worth visiting for views from the top and of course photos of it from the ground.

The tower itself is intriguing and well worth a visit, for the views from the top and for the introduction to Baku’s complex history as you climb through the different levels. Impressive structure from the outside. Also very well lit at night, and forms an important part of the Baku skyline.
You need a ticket to go inside, where every floor has got written matter and some memorabilia from the past. I was expecting to see more inside, but it’s ok. The view from top is average, and you can get the same from other tall structures around. So if you’ve seen it from outside, that’s good enough according to me.

Apart from the view at the top (which you can get from other parts of the city to be honest), I wasn't blown away.
There are some small exhibits on the three floors, but that's about it.
If you struggle with stairs, this isn't for you.
