Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited the Yerevan History Museum recently while in the city, we weren’t really familiar with Yerevan or much of Armenian history before embarking on our adventure around the region so this was a nice way to see the history of the country and city under one roof and gain a better appreciation for both. The museum was great, lots of great exhibits and information that we took in over about 4hours while we were there. During our visit we may have seen about 20 other people so it was almost like we had it all to ourselves. Well presented, well laid out, we started at the top floor and worked our way down as we usually do with multi-storied museums, gravity wins again! Definite must see in Yerevan.

The museum is located in Argishiti st. just opposite of which, you find the famous wine and beverages factory Noy (visiting which you may delightfully taste best vodka and brandy in a sip!) Here, you kind of feel drowned by Armenian culture and get to undesrtand that it is a peaceful mix of Russian and Iranian lifestyle. Yerevan's background in becoming a city is shown in old documents and pictures, along with drawings. ancient pistols and medals are put in shelves, and next you visit bedroom decorations, old clotheing, embroideries and furniture of more than centuries ago.

Being from New York you have no idea the history of your neighbors or friends and really you should it may help with understanding people's mentalities and constant struggles. I found in Yerevan one of those such histories that broke my heart and taught me to never ever give up. Thank You

Consists of three floors, each being about 900 sq meters. Another museum where I felt unwelcome. Attendants hover over you like you're a shoplifter. I have to say I'm baffled by their behavior as my girlfriend is Armenian and her family and friends are the nicest people I have ever had the privilege to meet. So far every museum I have visited felt like they were still influenced by iron curtain.

The bottom floor explains the history of the city through archaeological artefacts, and these are well displayed. There is also a nice maquette of the city. The 2 top floor showcases more recent history and folklore of the city, displaying furniture and clothes as well as achievements by its citizens.

A good little museum to spend a couple of hours in. Not well frequented by the look of it- they had to follow us around with the keys to open each room- and then lock them again!

This is a new, modern museum with innovative technology, a great place for the guests of the capital of Armenia-Yerevan/Erebuni, where they can be informed about the history of the city older than Rome ;) from its foundation (782 B. C.) to our days, including watching artifacts from various periods. Also different interesting evenings and events are organized here, the guides have tours in several languages.

Armenia is one of oldest countries in the world, and History Museum is on mandatory list for people who are interested in how people lived in old times. Unique items are oldest known shoe of above 5000 age, horse wagons found in Sevan lake, a lot of ceramics of really big age. Museum is well organized. Ticket is not expensive, and you do not need more than 2 hours, but if you have time, could spend more. Main city square, so easy to find. We have been on morning excursion, and then asked our guide to drop us next to museum in the afternoon. Nice walk in the city center followed. You could organize your day differently, of cause.
