I ad heard of Parajanov the film maker, but I did not know that of his extensive and VERY original art work. I visited this museum with my teen son. We were both pleasantly surprised and pleased with the variety of materials used in his work and the originality of almost all the items in the museum. This might be up the ally of some art conoisseurs, but the ogirinality of the ideas and materials used is amazing.

An amazing place dedicated to the life and work of the brilliant director and artist Sergei Parajanov! If you've seen his films, you've probably noticed that every frame is almost a painting. And here in the house-museum you can see his creations, mostly not related to cinema, and created from the most unusual materials, using unexpected objects. Basically, he created all this when he was not allowed to make films. It would seem that these are difficult years for the director, but most of his works are full of joy, fantasy and love of life, even when they are devoted to difficult topics. The exhibition is very inspiring, life-affirming and uplifting.
Be sure to take a tour. I don't always like to take excursions to museums. On the day of the visit, I was tired, I arrived almost at closing time and wanted to quickly walk around the museum and go to the hotel to rest. But when I was offered an excursion, for some reason I unexpectedly agreed and did not regret it. The excellent guide told a lot of interesting things, which allowed us to better understand each exhibit and Parajanov’s work as a whole. The fact is that she was personally acquainted with Parajanov and was connected with this museum from the first day, so her stories were not memorized texts, but what she herself saw, heard, knew and experienced. Her excursion allowed us to truly immerse ourselves in the world of Parajanov and truly enjoy the exhibition. Thank you very much for this! I was extremely impressed.
At this time, in addition to the works of Parajanov, the works of designers who created costumes inspired by the work of the genius were also exhibited. This was also very interesting. I highly recommend you visit this place. But if you decide to go closer to closing, try to leave a little earlier. I followed the map, but still circled around the courtyards for a long time and found the museum only by asking local residents.

A very atmospheric museum. For those who are not familiar with the personality of S. Parajanov, a biography is presented at the beginning of the exhibition. It’s better to check it out for a complete immersion. You can take a tour, an audio guide, or just wander around. There are many exhibits and halls, there is something to see

Beautiful atmospheric place. Many interesting collages, drawings and crafts made by the director. But it feels twofold - some of the crafts are made like a kindergarten kid. Some scary dolls in some junk. I understand the Soviet Union, the deficit of everything, the penniless genius, I see it... but still... I'm talking about the feelings we came out with - depressive-melancholic.

I am delighted. I haven't felt such emotions for a long time. I went to the exhibition with and without a guide. Without a guide, it is difficult to experience Parajanov’s works. The guide is like a guide between us and the artist. I am absolutely delighted

Mead from Sergei Pupynin's meadery has nothing in common with this drink. Sour dry wine and nothing more. The price is decent, but the quality is not. The mead maker needs to read the memories of foreign guests and domestic writers about this Russian drink in past centuries.

My recommendation is for the tourists who travel to Armenia. Parajanov museum is a must visit place, because:
1. It's the home-museum of the geniuse Sergey Parajanov, whose art is very special and whose mind of thinking is breaking the stereotypes.
2. The museum is very unique with its atmosphere, it has two floors of very interesting exposition and a small outdoor garden, where you can sit for a while to take a breathe!

One of the best museums in Yerevan. It's small and lovely house overlooking the Hrazdan gorge, of a famed Soviet filmmaker Sergei Parajanov, who has born in Tbilisi, Georgia . The films that Parajanov made brought him a fame and some fragments of the belongings you may find in the museum. The museum became a lovely place for visitors. Parajanov's collages, handmade dolls, and paintings make the museum a very special place.
The museum will host private dinners in the beautiful courtyard, or the museum itself, upon request. The food is excellent, and the hosts are fantastic. They are hosting events several times a year.
Do not miss the chance to visit to a museum.

I just had no idea he was such a genius! Even for a person like me who is a not a movie geek, this place was full of wonders. It's not a very big museum but it took me 2 hours to look around. Some collages were so beautiful and creative I couldn't get my eye off.

If someone loves art and especially cinema have to go for sure. This museum is a masterpiece! The only bad thing is that they want extra money for taking pictures.
