To enter the imperial city you have to pass through this wonderful and impressive doorway. In front of it you also get the tickets and should take a Combi-Ticket to see the main imperial tombs!

Many photos of the Vietnam war show the Noon Gate. The gate was nicely restored. A must see in Hue!!!

Get a guide so that you get the full history of this interesting place. They are restoring some of the buildings which is great, but it does not affect your tour. Worth the visit.

This is the place to take photos. The sheer beauty of the Imperial City needs time to enjoy it. They even have a shop inside where you can purchase cold drinks and even an ice-cream. Take a guide with you.

The main Southern gate way into The Citadel. Lots of lovers, honeymooners and schoolkids taking selfies. Go into the Citadel proper and don't waste too much time hanging out here.

There are always lot of people around. A good place for photos at the entrance to the city. Again usually part of a city tour.

The enormous walls can be identified as bulwark already from the distance. As closer you come as more impressive it becomes. It's the starting point for each tour through the Citadelle and Royal Palace.
