About
Head to Bui Vien Street for a wild night out along one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most iconic streets. Also known by locals as the “Backpacker District” or “Western Street” for its popularity amongst travelers, this street is lined with tons of bars, restaurants, coffee shops and street food stalls that beckon with their flashing lights, thumping music and fragrant aromas of Vietnamese cuisine. It'll be daybreak before you know it. Sign up for a night tour of Ho Chi Minh, which often includes a stop at Bui Vien Street and nightlife spots in Saigon. – Tripadvisor

    Good experience
Street for nightlife lol. I feel like this street is safe more than khaosan road, bangkok because of they don’t have marijuana and everything here is very cheap. I went to the hair of the dog club is good, cheap beer and shot of tequila lol. Must to visit but don’t expect too much because is not different from any nightlife in Bangkok.

Must see for an amazing night life
Amazing street. Must go. Great food, great music, good people. Worth the visit. So many street vendors. Different restaurants offer different prices for the same thing.

    Interesting for a walk through
This place is exactly what you expect - bars and clubs and restaurants for people watching. It's loud, in your face, and is a great place to party if you are looking for that. If you are not, it is worth walking through just for the experience. We stopped to eat at one of the restaurants and do some people watching. The food was actually pretty good. The experience isn't really for me since I don't typically drink alcohol, but for younger people looking to party, this is definitely an area that would be of interest.

    crazy and super fun street
this is the only area in this city can allow bars/pub playing music all night long, so crazy but a lot of fun. you guys should find the Hotel near the str., not too far but enough for prevent the sound. My Hostel named Violet star Hotel & spa is the best, only few steps to mainstreet.

    Party till you drop
This is Ho Chi Minh City's partying capital. A stroll along Bui Vien at night best captures its energy and sinful atmosphere. More like Pattaya than any other Vietnamese cities, this walking street is full of bars, clubs and restaurants for tourists. While it is not the ideal place to enjoy food, getting a pint here is an interesting experience.

    Loud and crowdy place
Very loud and unmanaged street. It is replica of Pattaya walking street but in walking street vehicle entries are restricted and also restaurants and pubs can not set up on the street, so people can easily walk away. Here along with traffic and roadside setup very narrow path remains to escape.

Lively, flashing lights and a 1000 offers as you stroll.
We arrived about 5:30 and mostly quiet. As we drank Mojitos, we watched the bustle increase and lights turning on from the 1st floor balcony of a bar until 7:30 when everything was picking up. Strolled down the street and was hassled by everyone to drink or eat. My partner was taking a photo behind me, when I then was hassled for seeing “dancing girls”. All good fun and smiles all around. Great please to visit. Reminds me of Thailand in the 80’s and 90’s (YES - last century… aghhhh).

Walk through to take a the scene
It's a loud drinking and Party scene. Picked up a Banh Mi from a street cart and a beer from a shop at one end. With food and drink in hand I had a built in excuse to pass by a bar/club. Lots of people on the on the street ushering the public into their business. Sit and people watch at a place selling 20K beers. The music from the neighboring clubs with 80K beers is plenty loud enough

    The Street of good vibes
The uniqueness of Bui Vien Walking Street is the vibe. The music from the pubs, the positivity of people and luscious food menus will blow your mind for sure. I had a 10 days trip to Vietnam, and got the best food from this street. As an Indian, there are 3 or 4 Indian cuisine restaurants, But I choose authentic Vietnamese food from here, and it was so good. The only negative I felt that, Its a walking street, but lots of motorbikes and cars are passing through this road every time. It’s a bit annoying. Apart from this issue, this street got its own vibes. Go and feel it guys!

Walking street, Saigon. Backpacker district. 1400m walk in District 1
Bustling, more hype and lights than NYC Times Square. Except the absence of the big screen. So much neon lights, music, smokes, food, bars and plenty more. This is a designated walking street so when you book the grab car for pick up be cautious. The driver can only wait at the start or end of the street and so be clear on where the driver is to pick us up. More suited for the night life lovers. Music was loud and may not be suitable for everyone. Children may get overwhelmed.

Bui Vien street is so-called “Western Street” referring to its Western culture-orientated features. Bui Vien also crowded with backpackers, cuz there are many budget hotels located here. besides, there are many eateries around the street. you can sip a cup of coffee or have local food beside the street.it is also a nightlife tourist attraction, and an ideal venue for travellers and locals to come to eat and hang out. the walking street is full of fun and vitality, if you come to Saigon, i recommend this place to you, you should come at least once.

Had no idea what to expect as was recommended as a ‘tourist attraction’. Went there tonight after we arrived from Hoi An to find a restaurant but was assaulted by noise /sleaze and pushy barmen trying to get you into the bars. Absolutely horrible and no place for children

I believe this is pedestrianised in the evenings though it didn’t stop a few of the ubiquitous motorbike from using it. There were numerous restaurants and bars to enjoy and we just Gp had a drink chatting and watching the world passing by.

Good for people watching but depressing to see the young women selling themselves at the bars, there are lots of very young children exploited and being dragged around by their mums trying to sell you things. There were even young children fire eating for money and we saw a young girl with a tiny monkey on a leash being used for photos which she then proceeded to hit with her shoe when it misbehaved. Very sad place!!!!

Party street it is. Similar to khaosan road in Thailand. Totally different from Pattaya walking street. No hookers on the street although there are various services at the numerous massage parlours. Gets v crowded late at night. Beer can cost 20000 vnd in one place and 75000 just next door. Food is there but better choice in side streets. Quite safe walking around the area at night. Beware ' grab' drivers that aren't who may persuade you to take their taxi service then insist you pay 5x grab price. Only use taxi you book online through grab app.

Crazy and vibrant place to visit in the evening. Recommend going down some of the little alleyways to taste some of the more local cuisine and enjoy a little peace after the frantic pace of Bui Vein Street. Well worth popping on the list to visit.
