One of the oldest zoos in the world. The Saigon Zoo and Botanical gardens established in 1864, almost 156 yrs old. This place is a familiar destination for city dwellers. For me and my friends, it becomes a part of childhood memories. The facilities are not modern enough to attract many of us. An extremely horrible place for animals. Its like something left over from a collapsed government like Russia's former communist regime. Pathetic!

If you want to see neglected animals in small enclosures with no or stagnant water than this is the place to go! The elephants are kept separate and sway there heads all day as a distraction from having no social interaction or space. Tigers and lions are thin and struggle on their legs All animals are severely depressed and deprived Feel very bummed out and sad having visited. Wish there was a way they could be helped, all money made seems to go on the gardens outside the enclosures Cant see most animals as glass is too dirty …
