To be precise it’s a Vietnamese and other food market where you can basically get any kind of cooked meat or fish or vegetarian food you fancy washed down with loads of different cocktails, spirits or beers.
On a Tuesday there is an excellent house band playing banging out western favourite popular tracks at the front of the market so get there early to sit at the front of the market near the band as it is packed and seating is limited to a couple of 100 on the wooden tables and benches. Note there is another much larger seating area at the rear too.
We ate there on a couple of evening and found the food from both of the different stalls to be good quality but there really are so many to choose from.
Pricewise this isn’t a cheap place to eat, you can find much cheaper of equal quality elsewhere but if you want a variety of different foods and great atmosphere then it’s a great place but this is a
Westerners place and not many locals eat here.
It’s definitely one to visit on any trip to Saigon, recommended.

This food market has bench seating in front and behind an amazing selection of street food stalls with more western standards. Everyone is catered for from local, all Asian and more western foods cooked before your eyes. Also a craft beer stall completes the meal if you want. Share/eat Vietnamese for starters, Indian for main and follow with Italian or any other combination based on what looks tasty to you on the night. I can assure you that something will. Not as cheap as the real street traders but aimed at those of us who want a bit more but would rather experience something more lively than a normal restaurant. Give it a go and you will not be disappointed. Some nights they also seem to have live music but this was not when we visited

Sorry for late review.
Visited this food street sometime around 7pm. 1st appearance itself was so good seeing the way out was set up and the huge crowd.
Being a vegetarian was not doubtful what I will get but I was not let down. Obviously a non veg lover paradise.
There should be close to 30 food outlets with different cuisine starting from Vietnamese, Indian, Thai, Arab etc.
The price of food was very reasonable and well organised with number tags given for us to place in the table so they serve rightly.
Good choice of drinks were also there.
Worth spending an evening when you visit ho chi minch

Same people , same faces, same places. This is an Ok food court, covered, not smelly, well managed and there is plenty of quality food on offer. I wandered around but was overcome by the claustrophobic atmosphere, the difficulty of finding a place to sit, a failure to agree on what to eat with my friend and the deep suspicion I was going to be overcharged . Plus I felt I had seen everyone before, somewhere , someplace, drinking the same beer , eating the same shellfish, laughing at the same witicisms, having a jolly good time. Thats that, ....safe food and a jolly good time. Which is OK.

Located at the end of the street opposite Ben Thanh Market. Consider it as a one stop centre to try vietnamese cuisine at night with various choices. A little pricey i believe because most visitors are tourists. Downside is that this place is super crowded and hardly can get any table and chairs for you to enjoy your dinner as people tend to stay longer to enjoy some good beer with the live performance.

Located very close to a great day of shopping at the Ben Thanh market the food court offers an endless amount of places to buy any kind of food that you would love to eat. The rustic setting with picnic table setting offers food, beer and drinks. If you looking for Pizza Ribs or Vietnam style food its all there. There are so many choices you might like it so much and go back a few more times. If you go a little later there is also a night market for more shopping if you did not get enough. Remember what every you buy at the market you should pay 50 % of what they tell you. You might get lucky too and get some great live music latter on.
Also we used grab cab and it was great so download the Asia Grab we never waited more that 5 minutes for a pick up and the price was always given on the app so no suprises. Its the cheapest way to get to your hotel from the airport.
Loved the food and the people were very kind and loved to bargin

This place literally has something for everyone. Whether you are wanting Asian, American, BBQ or just drinks, this place has it all. I would recommend arriving around 18:00pm as the place fills up fairly quick. Some evenings the place has live entertainment as well which is really nice and means that you stay longer and the vibe is good. All of the food considering the wide selection is reasonably priced and good measures in the drinks.

The market is exactly as people describe, cheap and decent local food all under one roof. It’s not air conditioned and sadly a couple of women in front of me had their order delayed by 30 minutes. I’ve had tastier Bahn Xeo, but for the price and that we could all order different dishes it was fun. (Also the portions were huge!)

Lol there are some bitter travelers in these reviews. The prices are quite good here, even though it is small. Some local foods and a few non local, one Indian stand and one pizza stand. There are also two bars as well as a handful of juice/smoothie stands. When I went it was a decent mix of tourists and locals. If you are just looking to get a bite without having to search I think it is perfect for that. They give you a number to deliver your food to you and they are very attentive with coming by to pick up trash. 50k dong for a tofu sandwich. I’m sure the street sandwiches could be found cheaper but I did not have time to search for a street stall that offered a vegetarian sandwich.

Walk 10 minutes in any direction and find amazing proper street food for a 3rd of the price. Experience how the locals eat and watch the city live around you. Or go to this overpriced tourist hole, where the staff are rude and you will sit with only tourists.

How much does the food here usually cost?
Written 27 July 2024
It depends on what you order. Every stall is different and has different prices.

They are not promoted as vegetarian however you could ask for it to not have meat and I'm sure they will try and accommodate as best they can. I suggest you keep an eye on them as they are making your serving to be sure that's what you are after.
Written 16 December 2019
Some of them are cash only and some take credit card we always asked before we ordered.

11:00pm but some vendor start packing 1h earlier. don't wait the last minute to visit.
some vendor are open since 5-6am, so it's a very long day for them and they will not bargain a t-shirt for 1h for $1 less....

Is this open every day? And is it better during day or at night?
Written 3 November 2017
Hi there,
It is open everyday, and I definitely recommend night. In fact, I'm not sure if the market is even open before midday.. The night/dinner experience is worth it though, as well as the assortment of local cuisine (:
