Nothing spectacular about this lake except it was the place where US Senator John McCain's plane was shot down on 26 October 1967. There is a monument the denote this incident.

A small lake next to the large West Lake. It offers beautiful views of Hanoi from all aspects. There are cafes and restaurants around the lake. We stopped in one and watched a local fishing with a stick. He appeared to be catching goldfish!

Walked around the lake and most of the time it smelt. I miss the point when West lake is next to each and so much better in every way

This is the 'east lake', separated from the West Lake by road. Located to the north end of Hà Nội. Three is a nice place to sit at its southernmost point and a photogenic Hanoi lettering sculpture. Otherwise it's a bit grubby and dilapidated.
