Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were very excited when we found this place however when we went inside there were many shops closed, escalators weren't working. Some of the shops have some beautiful art/products but I don't think you will get bargains here. Very quiet and empty. Downstairs on b1 is an experience - looks like a local area for shopping - butchers and food prep in the middle and lots of mini stalls full of crockery and bits and pieces along one side. It's ok for something to do if you have been everywhere else.

A lot of stall appear to be closed. A consequence of Covid 19 restrictions. I visited and nothing was open other than the Bridge and Poker Club which seemed busy

We visited this local market because we wanted some rice wafers to make some fresh spring rolls. The lady in the Hotel, Calypso Grand told us to go to Hang Da market. Great for all sorts of food and other goods including shoes and clothes. There are stalls with all sorts things dotted around the market. Great for getting ingredients for local cooking class or cooking for your self. There is a meat and fish stalls in there too. With live fish and prawns in tubs. This is a local market and tourists should go there with an open mind as some of the things may be a bit of cultural shock. We have lived in the FarEast and are experienced with local markets. Great place to get the local experience. All good food at good prices too. Located in the old town of Hanoi and on Hang Da street/area. Nice coffee shops around this area too. Try it you will love the experience of seeing Vietnamese life as it is and not through the eyes of a tourist. The people are very friendly and helpful. Be sure to haggle as it is expected. There are a lot of stores which sell hard 'booze' at fairly good price too. Can get some great bargains. Enjoy.

Dark and lifeless ground floor. Not suitable for shopping unless you are looking to purchase liquor.
However, there are a few fruit stalls opposite the building so if you are looking at buying a fruit hamper to visit a friend's place, this might be a good grab-and-go option. Prices ranges from 500,000 VND to 1,500,000 VND.

Thought it would be a great shopping experience but turned into something a little sinister!! Came here with my husband on Friday and was excited to get some new shoes and holiday treats however was made to feel incredibly unwelcome as soon as we entered! We were completely ignored by 99% of the stalls holders even when trying to find out prices we were either completely shunned or shooed away ! One women even slapped my hand away from a purse I went to looked at ! We quickly left after that ! Unsure of why ? No local ? Don’t like tourists! Be careful!

Don’t waste your time visiting these markets. Half the place was closed. One floor was under some sort of construction. The only place that looked great was the fitness centre.

Well it’s apparently historical, but goodness what a decrepit place. We went in and stayed for the airconditioning because there was literally nowhere else (AC is an unfamiliar concept in Old Quarter). We didn’t visit the basement, but the first floor is definitely not even worth taking a peek at.

There were maybe 20 stalls open and not a single person spoke to me the entire time. I was the only person there who wasn’t a shop owner. Extremely odd and creepy atmosphere. Probably used to be cool but has lately become a ghost town.

Stayed close by and stopped in. Seems to have hard liquor shops on the ground floor - mostly closed.
Didn’t venture upstairs as it didn’t look very welcoming.

Most of the shops are gone. At the third Floor is a gym. If you are looking for a spooky deserted place. This is it :-).
