This is a nice place to see in the middle of the lake in Hanoi. It is also a popular photo spot and is especially good to experience at night when it is lit up along with the nearby red bridge. A must see!

Thap Rua Tower, also known as Turtle Tower, commemorates local folk hero Le Loi. Its not accessible to the public and thankfully has not been restored by the looks of things so maintains its old world charm.

Thap Rua or Turtle Tower is a small tower in the middle of Sword Lake. In the evenings it is lighted and the tower looks mysterious illuminated in the peaceful lake.

The tower is in the middle of a large lake and not that easy to see. I didn't see any turtles when I was in Hanoi.
