The Thang Long Water Puppet show depicted the traditional music and visual performance of northern Vietnam. The price of admission was fairly cheap and my girlfriend and I viewed the evening show. The show was about 45 minutes long. The music and the water puppet...More

I honestly do not see how you could feel anything but satisfied with this show. So happy we went to see this show. Water puppetry is a longstanding part of Vietnamese culture so definitely worth seeing. Make sure you get an English written programme and...More

This figured in every site telling you about must see things in Hanoi but I was slightly disappointed . It was old art but not upgraded so seemed very basic. Music was also not very melodious so came across as noise . Not my type...More

Lovely to watch but lots of dialogue in Vietnamese. Still able to appreciate though. Must do in Hanoi.

The show is mainly in Vietnamese. Can be boring for some people. But the whole water puppet show is a first experience for me. Music played seems to be traditional music. The show can be a bit repetitive. So I would recommend some coffee before...More

For those outside of the old quarter it is a bit of a hassle purchasing tickets and then returning for session as it means two trips. When returning for 17:20 session, blockades (for night entertainment) meant it was quite a walk to theatre from where...More

Had read various negative comments on TA regarding the show, people expecting there to be English commentary and saying it was boring & 15 mins would have been long enough. Nothing could be further from my experience. There was an English intro followed by the...More

Visited to kill some time before an overnight train not expecting much- however the show was charming and fantastic, with live local music and some hilarious and fun puppet sketches. Also lasted longer than expected, making the entrance ticket more justifiable. We arrived 15 minutes...More

If you're staying a few days try and go to the book office as they have a seating chart for each performance. You might get lucky and get a front row. So in advance get your agent to check and book. Good luck and enjoy
