One of the most beautiful parts of Hanoi. Great views, and good cafes and restaurants. The one downside is that this is a bit of an expat haven, so it would not be the best place to find local food.

A welcome and very large expanse of water which adds interest to the city, and with lots of access points and cafes dotted around even including a spot you can swim from! Nice to go and unwind.

Went all around the lake on a motor bike which was great fun. The lake is stunning and all different kinds of life, community is to be seen here. A definite must if you go to Hanoi.

I ve been here many timesw, everytime i come here, walking or driving motorbike, i always feel so peaceful. The lake is large, in the summer u will love the wind. You can come to do excersice, or sitting on the grass, have ice tea, watch the fisherman do fishing. try the "Banh Tom ho tay", ice cream, or Bo... More

When the weather allows, do take time and sit in the Highland café and enjoy the Westlake view. Good for couples.

It's a dump of a lake. We walked there with the view to going on the swans and peddling around the lake. It has all sort of rubbish in the lake, clearly the locals don't take care of the environment in this part of Hanoi. Save yourself a long walk or costly taxi ride and leave this one out of... More

There are not too much people and crowded streets near here. The weather is always great. Many foreigners choose to live near west lake because of the pure air and good view from their villas or studios

Living in Hanoi near West Lake, i have never lost my admiral to its beauty. Ignoring the dead fish and some UFOs (unidentified floating objects), this is a wonderful place to enjoy the nostagic beauty of Hanoi. Try some ice cream or "bo bia" while strolling down Thanh Nien street, or enjoy "banh tom" (made of shrimps and flour) after... More

A nice view of the lake and adjacent Old Quarter scenery. Stops were spontaneous and included getting breakfast.

Great place to explore! The lake is beautiful, there are great places to get food, coffee and bakery treats. We had a heap of fun pedaling the swans around the lake at 11pm (and having one break mid lake making us tow each other to shore- it was a very funny experience)! Definitely wear mosquito spray because there are a... More
