Located about 20 minutes from the old quarter, you will need a taxi to get to this museum. I did not realize that Vietnam has so many minorities for such a small country. There are more than 50 in all and trying to comprehend the...More

There are plenty of displays and descriptions (in English) about life in Vietnam by the 50 over indigenous groups. Where they live. What they do. Do spend some time watching the videos as they show you actual footages of various ceremonies (wedding, burial, initiation). You'll...More

I loved this place! The outside area is the best bit but the inside exhibitions were great too. Well designed, thoughtful and informative. The replica traditional houses outside are amazing! Take off your shoes and have a wander, it's incredibly fun.

We were fortunate to have a guide to explain all the different sites and which to avoid at certain times of the day.

I went there with 3 of my friends sharing the same car. Quite happy with the museum even it is a little bit far away from hanoi old quarter. This museum is about the hill tribe Vietnamese people. A nice introduction

We learned a lot about the different tribes in Vietnam They had great examples of their villages and other artifacts. It helped us to understand so of what other guides would tell us later in our trip.

An interesting hour if time allows especially if you are not visiting the countryside. Of particular note were the re-created buildings outside. A little way out of the city.

We visited and did a tour that was only mildly interesting for the kids. Aged 12 & 8. At least they could explore a bit. Lots more inside but boring for children.

This museum is considered one of the finest in Vietnam and it lives up to its reputation. You will get a fascinating insight into the 54 minority groups of Vietnam. A good indoor activity.
