This museum provides a great précis of the >50 ethnic groups in Vietnam. Good if you don't make it to Sapa. The highlight was the local houses out the back. These are real houses from different regions, constructed by the people of that region. In some cases they're actual houses that have been moved on site. Nice and quiet if... More

The museum is lovely, with great mixtures of textile and costume examples, as well as videos of different events from different tribes (54 in Vietnam! Who knew?!) It was great to learn about the different groups, but the highlight is the garden, with full size models of 15 homes from different groups. Well worth reading the inside and playing outside.... Super interesting and well explained, not boring at all, I recommend strongly, even with kids. The outside is especially worth spending time.

Good displays of various ethnic groups culture and lifestyles. The museum is well organised. Taxi is the best way to get there.

This museum details the history of various ethnic groups in Vietnam. The buildings housing it are impressive, and it is definitely worth perusing.

There's a fair amount to see and you'll have to do it on your own unless you've booked a tour. It was interesting to us to learn more about the variety of tribes that live here. The grounds feature a number of life-sized tribe-specific dwellings and tombs. Note that there's a cafe and restaurant (outside) on site as well as... More

Interesting museum highlighting the various ethnic groups that make up Vietnam, particularly if it happens to be raining during your visit to Hanoi. Perhaps slightly better curated is the wing of the museum focusing on Southeast Asia in a newer building set to the side of the grounds that is worth a walk through.

We came here as part of our family tour and it's well worth the visit. It is very well laid out and the photography and exhibits are great. The outside exhibits are also really good

Was an interesting place but I think that I could have found other activities more enjoyable on our short visit to Hanoi
