I'm not huge on museums so this place really didn't interest me that much. I felt that I had already learnt so much about Vietnamese culture & history that nothing here really added much value. The museum wasn't even cool which is the reason why...More

This museum is a testament to Vietnam's diversity and heritage. Other countries may "celebrate their diversity" through words and pap; Vietnam does it with substance in this museum. The indoor displays are well complemented by the various styles of houses together with domestic artefacts in...More

This is a big modern building - but both the museum and its gardens are worth a visit. You can also see a production of their water puppet theatre within the grounds.

Museum offers comprehensive view of Vietnamese demographic structure. Way of housing and habits of more than 50 Vietnamese native people groups are presented in organized and clear manner. Must!

This museum provides information on the more than 50 ethnic groups in Viet nam. It provides information about their art, their beliefs, their customs and even provides the opportunity to visit traditional housing. Well worth the visit.

Best museum in Hanoi I would say. I am Hanoian and I've visited the museum several times, however, it still wows me every time I visit it. A diversity of ethnic and religion, many types of demonstration, often organize events. It is going to be...More

Expecting to be overwhelmed by a chaotic display of artifacts, badly organized and displayed, I was delighted to experience the Museum of Ethnology. Carefully curated, and beautifully designed, the buildings that house this collection are also visually appealing, and a great place to spend to...More
