Noisy, messy, chaotic, with impossible traffic, but the Old Quarter in Hanoi is the true spirit of the city. The nicest thing to do os walking around both in the day and at night, to see the people, hear the sounds, smell the odours and...More

Stroll down those winding lanes and discover local food. Best way to know Hanoi. From egg coffees to souvenir shops to walking to the lake!

We stayed in Hanoi about 3 days and had a good time in the Old Quarter. Have so many food, sweet people and beautiful places. Love this place so much

The streets are very noisy with the sound of motor bikes horns of a typical Vietnamese area. The walkways are littered with parked motor bikes and broken paving stones. It is interesting because there are so many coffee Houses and cheap food cafes.

The old quarter is full of noise, cyclos, smells, crowds, food, hawkers, it never seems to stop. The markets are fascinating. The food culture is exciting. We really enjoyed it & found it easy to get around on foot.

Crowded and action-packed. Lots of foods and tons of beer. Street food at every crook and cranny. Plenty of alley ways to explore.

Like all such places around the world it is fascinating to see the daily life, hustle and bustle but there isn’t a lot of context. It is shopping and maybe a bit street food.

A place to visit and sightseeing for foreign visitors. Feel the Hanoi's own with the old streets, baby and interwoven ash. Feel the life of the people here without having to go anywhere, just standing outside the city you will see the everyday activities of...More

The old quarter is the very heart of the city, developed around and north of the Hoan Kiem Lake. Not really your place if you don't like tiny allies stuffed with typical street food restaurants, often provided of no tables but their colored, plastic stool,...More

There's loads of places for a beer. There's a couple of places right on the lakeside and plenty of places overlooking the lake. Lots of cafes/bars/ restaurants around the streets.
