The perimeter streets surrounding the lake are closed to vehicular traffic from Friday evening to Sunday evening. This allows the pedestrian to focus on his or her surroundings rather than dodging scooters, buses and cars. The lake itself is really not the attraction, it is...More

Just a stroll around the lake and listen to the tragic story of the prince and princess and turtle(wont spoil), the rich culture and story telling of the Vietnamese people is impressive and hard to forget. Watch out when you get a cab from here...More

Location of the lake is central of Hanoi, close to Old Quarter. In the morning or late afternoon was a great time to me when I was in the city. Went for a walk with trees, gardens and some symbolic buildings. But sometimes polluted.

I enjoyed walking around it especially during weekends where you can see a lot of shows near it and beside the Main Street. Definitely I will come back to it.

Lovely lake with Pagoda in middle of lake that is accessible to view. A walk around the lake is easy and shaded for an hour with a stop or two for photos.

The lake itsalf is beautiful but around it is not. You can hear all the traffic and breathe the pollutions of cars. Maybe before it was a great place, now traffic destroy it

I live in Hanoi and, although of course you have to use normal common sense in protecting your valuables, this is probably one of the safest cities in Asia. And the Hoan Kiem Lake at night is beautiful. Would recommend... More
