Taking this amazing cruise through Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay my family and I where welcomed at the very beginning by our amazing tour guide Quynh she was engaging enthusiastic and a very welcome addition to our trip. We traveled through clusters of mountains that emerged out of the turquoise water and weaved our way through the paradise that is Ha Long Bay. The food was incredible and catered for all different needs, which included a hands on experience with making traditional Vietnamese food. The staff were all very friendly and made everyone feel welcome and at home. Would highly recommended

It was already a year ago. Me and my fiancé went to Escape Sails tour in Hanoi. The very first person to meet was the awesome guide Dan! He is very humorous during the tour. From the limousine bus, it became internationalized. I and my fiancé became to know so many nice people there.
COVID made us difficult to travel as we used to do before. However, once again if we get a chance to travel again, we definitely want to come back to this amazing tour again!
Thank you Dan :) I hope you and your family are all well.

our hotel organized this day trip for us. Lan picked us up in the bus and it was a 2 hour bus trip to the boat. A very relaxing and enjoyable cruise with a really lovely lunch including fish prawns chicken and vegetable salad dishes. kayak and bamboo boats through the caves then a cooking demo on the way home. excellent with great company and informative guide. thanks for the memories. not physically challenging and also saw wild monkeys in the trees.

We recently were in Hanoi and of course wanted a tour of Halong Bay. It’s a tough decision to do a one day, overnight, or even a two night cruise. After weeks of research we decided on full day tour. Now the big question is... what company to go with.
I wanted to visit from the back side with little to no other ships and I wanted comfy transportation with the least time on the road.
After hundreds of reviews we chose Escape sails. Wow! What an amazing choice. We had our group of 5 and 3 other guests on a beautiful luxury bus. It took about 2 hours with a stop for snacks.
I assumed others would join us at the ship but no!!! It was just us 8 on a 4 month old beautiful ship with air conditioning!!!
We sailed for about an hour and then had a huge wonderful lunch.. again just 8 of us.
After a few hours we reached caves and kayaked under caves and swam in the warm waters.
On the sail back we had a quick lesson on making fresh veggie rice paper rolls. Then tea and fruit and pastries.
Dan was our amazing guide the entire day, couldn’t be a nicer more respectful man. He will make your day amazing.
I could not recommend them more. They’re an amazing company.

Whilst in Hanoi we booked up for a boat trip to halong bay.i was picked up at hotel on time by a very bubbly tour guide called Lam.she was very informative not just about the tour but the history of the whole country.we had a tremendous sail through the hundreds of islands. We arrived at one island and went kayaking through the caves.later we sailed to another stop and all went swimming off the boat.we had a 6 course lunch which was far too much to eat excellent food.a full day very well spent .all staff so friendly.a definite must for everyone.

So glad we chose this instead of bog standard Halong Bay cruise. Collected just before 8am from hotel in Hanoi, lovely comfy coach. Great guide Mike was informative, funny and self deprecating. We had quite a nice mix of people, although some of our fellow passengers weren’t very patient with a lovely Vietnamese couple and their 2 small children who were just being (well behaved) kids.
We travelled as a family with 3 teenagers and it was great for us. Two hours journey and a few minutes waiting at the port before we were on our way. Very safety conscious with life jacket provided for transit from small boat to the actual boat we used.
Lots of room on board for everyone, we were joined by another group of around 12 so in total there were probably around 28/30 people. Staff were very friendly.
Big lunch provided but pay separately for drinks. They weren’t cheap but not too expensive considering we were in the middle of a bay!
We chose the kayaking through the cave, although some chose to be rowed. It was my first time kayaking and it was not difficult and great fun.
Later we jumped off the boat in a swimming area which was lovely, the water was like a bath.
As we were cruising back we had a fruit carving demo plus tried our hands at making spring rolls which to be honest was the least enjoyable bit, not least because rolling veg and chicken in a piece of rice paper is pretty simple and doesn’t really require instructions 🥴.
Remember to tip the driver and guide, they will appreciate it.

If you are planning a one day trip to Halong Bay, definitely check out Escape Sails and make sure you have “Dan the Man” as your guide.
We chanced upon Escape Sails as an alternative to another option which was over subscribed and were recommended to take up Escape Sails. It turned out to be a good choice.
The boat is new (or so we are told) and the facilities are decent. The itinerary was well spaced out allowing time for kayaking/bamboo ride, some cooking demos, and plenty of mingling, sun-tanning and conversations with other guests onboard.
What made the entire experience, from being picked up at the hotel, on Escape Sails to heading back to the hotel was the guide Dan the Man. His sense of humour and candour put everyone at ease and created a fun and relaxing atmosphere the entire day.
All in all it was an enjoyable experience.

The tour was awesome, the ride to halong bay is long but definitely worth the trip. Our tour guide Dan the Man was funny and informative, definitely no dull moment with him around. The bus that picked us up at hotel was a larger charter bus, all the seats are window seats except for the back row which sits 2 on each side. There is 1 rest stop between Hanoi and halong bay, great place to get coffee and snacks. The boat ride was smooth. At first there isn't much to see but once you go around the bend a bit you get a gorgeous view of ha long bay. You also get an option to take a banana boat or a 2 person kayak once you get to that portion of the tour. Food was good, 10 course meal, so come hungry. Staff was courteous and very respectful. Glad we booked this tour, great way to spend a day in Hanoi.

We are in a group of 4 friends went for this 1-day luxurious boat trip to Halong & Lan Ha Bay on 22/05 after our Hotel service desk officer recommended it to us. The transportation arrangement was 5-star as we traveled in a luxurious minibus departed from Hanoi to the destination in less than 2.5 hours. Our tour guide Dan was very responsible, helpful and funny. He always make us feel comfortable. The boat Escape Sails is very new and pretty in the exterior and interior structure. We did the kayaking for the very first time. The bamboo boat ride was also fun. We really enjoyed it and happy that we took this boat tour.

Booked this tour thru agency Impress travel arranged by Tommy. The Cruise and bus are new about 3 months old. We relax on this cruise with lunch and Hi tea served.
Cruised by the Cat Ba island bay, not so busy as halong bay. Bus ply by highway took 2 hours per way, shorter than usual way which took 4 hours to halong bay.
Only 12 passengers on board to enjoyed whole day include kayaking or bamboo boat rolled around the bay for an hour before return back to habour.

No mention of prices. What is the difference bewteen the 1 day or 2d tours?
Written 27 January 2020
hi T2944UDchrisb,
thank you very much. The difference between 1 day cruise and 2 day cruise is we do the trip and end in the same day for the 1 day tour while we start the trip on 1st day and end the trip the 2nd day for 2d tour.
