Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our family of 5’s return trip from Ha Noi to Sapa in a luxury 9 seater was the worst I’d experienced. The driver ( name was Kiet or Ken ) was so rude. No greetings on both trip. We got into the car, my mum and daughter sat in the front two seats. He told them to sit in the next row as the front row was reserved, and the remaining 3 of us sat in the last row. He drove too fast and dangerously. We asked him to slow down and he snapped back advising that he had a time limit and had to be in Sapa at 2:30pm. I said “better to slow down and arrive in one piece”. He said if I wasn’t happy, I should call the office and complain. I didn’t bother, instead he called and complained to the office about us requesting to reduce the speed. He served in and out from lanes, passing cars and trucks. He was driving as if he was in Fast & Dangerous. When we got to Sapa at 1:30pm the centre was covered in cloud and fog. He dropped us in front of the church and told us to walk 300m to our hotel. Couldn’t see where we were going and did not know the direction of the hotel. We asked the little Hmong children to show us. We arrived at the hotel which can be accessed by car. He made us walk with all our luggages in tow!!
We prayed on our return we didn’t have him, BUT WE DID. No greetings from him ( grumpy face), and again told us to sit in the seats how we came. He told me that the front seats are $400,00 VND. I told him the hotel booked us the transport and we paid $1,400,000 VND each. He said “ I don’t care “. He told us we couldn’t eat because we left rubbish behind at the last trip. I told him we took our rubbish with us and we did not eat the food that he said was left in the car. That shut him up. I told him that other companies let their passengers eat in the car why not this company. Once again he told me to call the office, and once again he called the office and complained about our family. We had 5 Vietnamese bread rolls made for us from our Hotel however we couldn’t eat it. The ride back to Hanoi was rough. 3/7 people vomited due to his rough driving. He even dropped by somewhere and picked up his wife and child to visit his mother. They were talking so loudly. I complained to the hotel who made the booking and they were so apologetic. They called the transport company and I spoke to a lady by the name of Thuy (Twee). She listened to my feed back and said she will follow up. The chat with Thuy eased my frustration, howeverI will not be using them in future.

On our way back to Hanoï from Sapa, the driver (of King Express company) was supposed to arrive at 08:30 according to the numerous e-mails the travel agency sent us.
However, the driver showed up at the hotel at 07:40; the hotel reception desk called us and within 5 minutes we were at the reception desk. The driver was already gone and left us an address in the city center of Sapa where we should be before 8 or our booking would be cancelled. It was 7:50...
The hotel was not understanding at all and we refused to take a cab at our expense to meet the driver.
Finally, after calling our travel agency, the problem was settled but we still had to go by taxi to the city center (for free).
When we got in the limousine bus, it was packed and we had no other choice than taking the two back seats which were very uncomfortable for a 6 hour driving.
We discovered that 2 other passengers had the same experience.
Furthermore, we noticed that the driver was bringing his friends (which were occupying the comfortable seats) and he dropped them off in the middle of nowhere when we arrived in Hanoï. He was constantly talking either on the phone or with his loud friends.
Never again King Express company.

Disappointed with the cafe with TripAdvisor sign; free drink vouchers but unhygienic! Pls don’t drink there!

No free pick-up at our hotel. They said to be at Apollo hotel at 7.15am but comes at 8.30am. The driver drives too fast and dangerously. No possibility to turn off the airco. The driver let us in the middle of the road at 10km from our hotel (old quarter Hanoï). He ordered a soup and said to us that we can book a taxi to our hotel.

During our return trip from Sapa last night the driver (no English, no English...) pushed us to move to the back of the van to give the - most convenient - front seats to two local passengers/friends (?) who were talking loudly, put their bare feet up to other's face etc. Speeding on the regular basis, speed beep was on most time. We were - while trying to sleep - jumping up and down on road bumps. Wifi/internet did not work (switched off because we were arguing on seat selection?)
Shame as the service/cars/outbound trip were good otherwise.

My trip from Hanoi to Sapa with 4 passengers and return from Sapa to Hanoi with 5 passengers. Very comfortable seats for more than 5-hour journey. It was inexpensive and certainly value for money.
