My best mate and I booked Castaways through Vietnam Backpacker Hostels (beware of fake websites) and had the best time of our lives.
The cruise of Ha Long Bay was awesome, the booze was flowing and our tour guides (big shout-out to Alex and Gaby) were COOL AS.
Highly recommend doing the water sports and taking advantage of the SUP boards if you’re not too hungover from the party on the island the night prior.
Don’t think about it, just BOOOK!
We’ll be back for sure.

I did castaways with my sister and some friends and it was honestly the best time! It was so nice to get away from the busy city and have time to chill (and parrrrttyyyy!). The reps (gabby, rob, hannah, lucy & alex) were so welcoming and made it really easy to meet people and have fun. The party cruise was the best part. It was such a fun way to see Ha Long Bay. If you're travelling in vietnam or even living in Hanoi I absolutely recommend this trip!!!
(Be careful though - there are some fake castaways companies. Be safe & book with vietnam backpacker hostels like we did)

3 of us all went on the 3 day 2 night tour. We all had a great time and met so many friends that we ended up catching up with multiple times after the tour. Would highly recommend this tour if your solo and wanting to make friends quick and easily. No wifi for 3 days meant everyone was always talking and socializing. The food is pretty average but the drinks are dirt cheap. Expect to have sand though everything by the end off the tour. Unfortunately the showers were also cold. The staff were great however were not as involved as you would expect. Overall had an amazing 3 days and would 100% recommend to those who love to party.

We would a little amount of your time in Vietnam consequently we would considered opting out of the Castaway trip, I am happy we didn't! We went with an excellent team of people and made a lot of buddies with another guests also the tour guides. When you're competent to, stay for the two nights, one night just isn't adequate! The tour guides were definitely fun that is great. The online games and' island rules' kept the party choosing the whole trip! We didn't want to keep!

Honestly I had the most amazing time on castaways. My reps were Lucy, Mitch, Gaby and Hannah. Could not have asked for a funnier and more accommodating group of reps. From the start Lucy was so helpful when it came to getting us to the island, I had a lot of questions and usually with reps from other hostels (NOT VBH) have made me feel annoying for asking them, however she did not and was so kind to me as I was anxious about going over. As soon as we arrived on the island Hannah have the best introduction about the island and the rules, which was so clear and just to the point, so we managed to get checked in so quickly. It then came to the games and I felt slightly embarrassed to ask if I could join in with some sporting activities, Mitch and I got chatting and he took me over to the boys to join in and from then on Mitch really took me under his wing and looked after me when I got so drunk on the first night (due to my own doing and the once in a life time experience of a boat party in halong bay) and passed out at 9pm. The same night I had misplaced my things, I went and told Gaby who got all the staff looking, Lucy took me to search the boat and looked after me in my drunk state and helped me when I had a bad fall. Gaby ran the drinking games and taught me some new games I’ll definitely be taking home with me, I mean the Canadians (I think she’s Canadian anyway it’s a shame I didn’t get to know her more as she seems lovely) are the best at those games. Overall I could not recommend a better group of reps to experience the island with. Going onto the accommodation the bunks are amazing you feel like you’re in the wilderness and being between two limestone walls and a beautiful beach just makes you feel how lucky you are when you’re looking out to the beautiful ocean it makes you want to ring the gong and buy everyone a drink😂 I’ve made friends for life on this island even as a solo traveller.

We got recommended to do castaway by every person we spoke to before coming to Vietnam, and it definitely lived up to expectations, extremely well organized from leaving VBH downtown, to returning back. We went from 31st December until 2nd Jan, if your after a party this is definitely the one for you.
Worth noting the reps are brilliant and know how to get the party started... Sav, Lucy & Dan.
An extra special shoutout for Gabby who started our boatparty with a bang! For me, it would not of been the same without her...

Myself and my partner have been traveling around vietnam for a few weeks. It was my birthday at the end of January so we decided to book a castaways tour for it. It was honestly probably the best birthday I’ve ever had. We went on a booze cruise two days in a row and the reps were amazing at their jobs. Big shout out to Hannah and Gabbie who were so welcoming and great fun. They made a huge effort to celebrate my birthday. 10/10 would recommend to everyone!

Castaway is recommended if you like:
1 - being with people who behave like silly teenagers;
2 - dirty beach (see pics)
I booked the tour for 3 days and 2 nights. On the second day I left. I couldn't stay an extra minute in that place. Save your money for something else.

Whether you like scenary, partying activities or waking up to paddle boarding around halong Bay this is the place to do it through. I have been travelling South East Asia for 4 months so far and this was the highlight of my trip! Shout out to Mitch and Matt your hospitality was second to none. Book this tour you won't regret it!!

Was apprehensive at first due to heavy drinking stories but it turned out to be amazing! Perfect balance between partying, relaxing, and water sports. 100% worth the money. Shout out to reps Hannah, Mitchell, Alex, and Rob for making it great!

Sounds like a great party place. I love the idea that nudity there is okay. Has anyone been there, participated in the nudity, and what was the atmosphere like? I'm a gay man, so looking for a gay-friendly atmosphere for sure.

To be honest the typhoon weather didn’t bother me at all, it was just cloudy and not as sunny but I guess if you’re happy to wait then yeah wait till Oct/nov/dec time as it’ll be sunnier!

Contact Indochine Junk to take you there on their classic sailing junk which was memorable and interesting. They will drop you at Castaway island or Monkey island for a few day to relax and soak up the air of ocean
