"The crazy house" is part art gallery, part hotel and all the whimsy of an eccentric architect. Have a cup of tea inside a giant giraffe, visit the monkey cage and relax in the sculpture garden.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is an almost endless series of buildings with different types of Vietnamese art on display, sculptures, silk work, paintings, and shops. A great place to see some of the art. Worth seeing the entire staff come out front in the afternoon to recreate an ancient procession honoring the past. A good rainy day activity since most of it is indoors.

It was pouring with rain when we arrived at Crazy house which I think made it look even more crazy!
We weren't exactly sure what to start, but started up one of the many stair cases. Quite dangerous in the wet weather, and there are such low 'railings' that you could very easily fall over the edge if you slipped. Would not pass any western countries building code! Definitely not for those with a fear of heights either.
Very bizarre architecture - like a child's version of the Spanish Gaudi.
Worth a visit but don't go in the rain!

To enter the Crazy House it cost 20,000 per ticket. It is an easy 15 - 20 minute walk from town. The completed part looks pretty run down, with paint peeling off everywhere, yet they are building a new section of the "house" at the back. Not that fantastic, and definitely wouldn't bother if you were short on time, but it is ok to see if you combine it with a walk onto the cathedral as well.

I stayed here with a friend in the Kangaroo Room - it was very small - possibly the smallest room I have ever stayed in. It is quirky and the bed was very comfortable, but all together a pokey room. The worst thing is that it is a tourist attraction and they open their doors from 8.30am (monday - friday) so we were constantly woken up by visitors trying to open our door and knocking continuously. This coupled with children running up and down the alley way, people playing the piano downstairs and banging the gong not far from our room, made for a very annoying wake up call. The room did come with a small outdoor space, which we didn't use since we would have had people walking past every 3 seconds, asking to take pictures. We even had a tourist ask to see our room as they wanted to take a photo, as we were trying to get in it! Da Lat itself I would say is also pretty disappointing. If this place is one of the main attractions in the area, it tells you a lot about the lack of things to do. I wouldn't bother.

We paid 30 000vnd/adult and we spent less than 30 minutes there. Another wing of the 'hotel' is still under renovation and would only be completed in 2015. The rooms with theme of animals and insects didn't attract our 2 girls, age 3 and 5, and in fact, the figures of the animals and insects in the rooms looked scary! Looking at the condition of the rooms, we don't think we would stay for free either as the ceilings and walkways are too low for my 1.87m tall husband.
Having paid only 15 000vnd/adult for the other more worthy attractions like Lang Bian, this is definitely not worth the money. They probably need the money for the renovation as the old wing seems old with rust on most part while the new wing is not ready yet.

Our check in was incredibly sketchy. We arrived late, the host could not find our booking and proceeded to demand cash. They wanted us to leave our passports or a lot of cash as a damage deposit??? On top of the payment made. We felt mistrust from the start instead of hospitality. They had given away the room that we were so excited to stay in :( and had reserved. The place in the morning- they BLARE music. It becomes a theme park with swarms of tourists looking in to your room and rattling your doors to try to get in. To top it off there is construction throughout the place so super noisy. Don’t stay there!!!!! You will be very disappointed.

It was a unique and interesting home. However there were so many constructions in the property. Glad did not choose to stay there as the accommodation did not seem comfortable.

Hang Nga Guest House and Crazy House Hotel are the same place. Come and see what it is about. You feel like you inside of Dali’s paintings. So surreal! And such fun! Climb as high as you can to see the city panorama. Great views, great fun at the Crazy House.

There is a lot to see here and they are expanding with even more rooms. As many others have said, I am not sure I would like to stay at this hotel myself, but it was really fun visiting the place and just have a walk around.

The entrance is about 40,000 VND per person. The architecture is somewhat weird and the concept is quite confused. But it worths a visit for pure curiousity.
