The summer palace has been well preserved, as have it's contents. It gives you a very good insight into how life was back then for royalty. It's included in the Dalat City Tour, which is worth doing if you don't want to hire a motorcycle.

It's okay just to say you have been there after seeing it on the internet but I personally wasn't all that taken with it. The grounds were not really in top condition although the building presented simply and elegantly as was the way of the times. A visit to the local museum is far better money spent and, as long... This venue gives an interesting look into the life of one of Vietnam's rulers. The tour shows mostly the living and working spaces of the era ... in some ways very pragmatic and some a little ostentatious.

I had heard that this was a must visit in Dalat. To be honest, it is a poorly maintained historical location. The grounds were not kept and there are random merchants throughout the property and a "market" for you to walk through before leaving. When we wanted to walk through the palace, we were instructed to put on shoe covers.... More

I came here with my daughter to show her a palace and instead we found a moth eaten, unmaintained building that had very little of interest to see. The grounds are also poorly maintained, such a waste given the great location and potential.

I loved the fact that the house and all the Furniture are Authentic from the time when it was lived in by the last king and his Family, and I love the Art Deco style, so I was in heaven just walking around admiring the pieces of Furniture. But I would have liked to be able to read more information... More

This palace is worth a visit! It whispers history of old greatness. The rooms are authentic from when king Bao Dai and this family lived here during the French colonial time in Vietnam. Unfortunately the exhibition lacks good english translation in some of the rooms. But it is still a nice place to visit.

This palace cannot be compared to those grand palaces typically found in Europe. The building, rooms, deco are rather basic, simple in design and architecture. Nevertheless, one has an idea of the living condition of the last king and his royal family. Not a must-visit, but can drop if you have an hour to spare.
