Soi is a wonderful and trustworthy charity that, in turn, puts complete trust in its fantastic volunteers. I was blown away by the courage and perseverance of the dogs and employees alike, against various adversities. I came away from my experience of walking and socialising...More

Basically this is a place set up where you can come and play with kittens and puppies all day long. It's completely free and they run only on donations from the public. We were disgruntled to find there really weren't any ethical elephant option in...More

This is the best thing I've done on a Thai island by far! Definitely a must for anyone who loves animals, they give you an opportunity to spend time with the dogs and cats they have rescued from the street and socialise them. If you...More

There is no charge for visiting Soi dog nor for the tour. Obviously as the foundation relies totally on donations, then donations are gratefully received.
Hi, we are currently in Thailand, visiting Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Khao Lak - Phuket. We have witnessed a lot of stray dogs, some very scared and scarred, but many that welcome that human love. We have spent a lot of our holiday giving comfort to the dogs whom have crossed our path and fed them some treats. As dog lovers, this has been such an experience, good and bad and would wish everyone visiting this beautiful country, takes time out on their visit to give some affection to these lovely creatures. We came across a really badly injured dog from what must have been a fight with another, was bleeding badly, but totally ignored by all, including the woman taking the entrance money at the monkey temple in Khao Lak. We have seen many stray dogs at temples where they seem to be taken care of, but was so concerned at the lack of care at this temple. We tried to get support for this poor dog and even though we were told someone was going to help the dog, we really did not feel convinced. So who is looking out for these injured dogs? I tried to give the dog some affection where not injured, but seeing he was partially blind from eyes being heavily infected, he yelped as he thought he was under attack again. Please someone, visit this temple and check on this dog, if he still lives. Thank you.
