It’s similar as Chaweng beach but shorter . Sand and wave and color of the water are decent . You could think it’s a smaller size Chaweng beach but with also a smaller size shopping area along the main street.

We had heard a lot about this beach but we were disppointed to be here. The site where we came, it was almost empty. There were neither sunbeds nor any water sports. The shacks serving drinks and food were little far. The only good thing about this beach was, it was very quite unlike Chewang.

A lovely beach walk, with plenty of restaurants dotted up and down it. It was very windy while we were there so we didn't go swimming in the water but wandering up the beach was pleasant. I will say that the hackers that walk up and down the beach can be a bit pushy though, we had the same person pass us a few times & each time they tried to sell us something we didn't want or need.

Lamai Beach is one of my favorites on the island. I stayed at an older resort down by the rocks. (Near the grandmother and grandfather rocks.) The oil previously reported at the beach is now gone. The first few days I didn't notice any garbage at the beach at all, but this morning I did notice quite a few plastic bottles. I don't blame the resorts. I blame the carelessness of humans in general. I like Lamai Beach because it's not as loud as Chaweng, but there are still lots of restaurants and things to do. The beach is very beautiful and not overcrowded. I'll return again next year for sure.
