Our favorite experience in Chiang Mai and possibly all of Thailand. The elephants are very clearly loved and well cared for. The day was great, comfortable ride to the park in an air conditioned van, lots of information on the way and at the park, and tons of time with the elephants while they ate, walked, and swam. The staff is all very knowledgeable and super friendly, they clearly love their jobs. Strongly recommend this experience for anyone looking to spend humane time with elephants. There was even a 6 year old in our group who had a great time too!

Fantastic day out, amazing experience, words can’t really articulate.

Lots of bad ‘elephant sanctuaries around’ but this gives 100% of its profit to look after the rescued elephants.

Domesticated elephants make around 50% of the population in Thailand, due to their breeding. Meaning they would not survive in the wild without care of the humans around them.

A fantastic experience! The elephants are well-treated and our guide -- Pong -- was fantastically knowledgeable and genuinely friendly. Playing with the elephants in the water was a great time. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful trip at the Rescue park, the guide spoke very well English and we had some lovely chats about life in Thailand, elephants and more. At the park we fed the elephants, walked with them thru the forest, had lunch, prepared some vitamins for the elephants and enter the water with the animals. The walk in the forest is very very easy and slow, almost anyone could do it. The lunch provided was good too, and the views are magnificent. At the end of our trip we made a stop to poopoopaper park, which our son loved. It really exceeded my expectations.

Firstly we had an amazing day.
I would implore people to choose Elephant Rescue Park over most other Elephant experience options. There are probably cheaper ones out there, but most have reviews and reputations that elude to the mistreatment of these special animals. We saw first hand how happy the animals were, all of them in recovery from hard lives before they were rescued/adopted by the sanctuary.
I felt like our money would be put to a good cause and would give more if possible.
Everyone involved at the establishment is committed to a righteous cause, it was very humbling, educating and memorable.
Many thanks to our hosts and elephants.

Late decision as to plans for the day. Read the TripAdvisor reviews and booked it immediately. So glad I did as the experience was beyond expectations. Literally hands on with one of nature’s great creations. Feeding, walking and bathing were all hands on. I highly recommend this adventure.

Today I got to visit Elephant Rescue Park. One of the best experiences I've had. I got to walk with the elephants through beautiful scenary, bath the elephants och feed the elephants with yummy fruits. This place is for rescued elephants from circus, hard work and mistreatment. The elephants caretakers told us about the story of every elephant and some of the stories were awful. Now the elephants are in place where they are provided a loving and secure environment. I would highly recommend this place 😊🐘🐘

I have never written a review before but my time at the Elephant Rescue Park was so incredible that I have to let everyone know about it. From my first moments at the sanctuary, I felt that it was at a special place. This sanctuary rescues elephants from circuses and the logging industry. They rehabilitate the injured elephants and provide them with the best medical care to ensure that these wonderful beings can go on to live the rest of their lives in peace. During the tour, we chopped sugarcane and bananas, mashed up ingredients to make medicine (really just nutritional balls that contain rice, bananas, salt and tamarind), and fed the elephants. Each elephant is accompanied by a caretaker who has a special bond with their assigned elephant. Towards the latter half of the day, we went to the river and helped wash the elephants. From observing these elephants for an entire day, I think they are content with the amount of land they have to graze on and the fact that they get to bathe several times per day. If you're in Chiang Mai (or planning to be) while reading this review, know that you will undoubtedly come across many elephant sanctuaries. However, this one is the real deal. They have struggled quite a bit during the pandemic and have let go of many of their staff members. However, their elephants are still healthy and happy. That speaks to the priority that they place on the elephant's wellbeing and safety. Please consider visiting this park. They need your support so that they can continue to run the sanctuary and rescue more elephants in the future!
