A family run cooking class established in 2001. We began with a small class size. Even though our business has seen tremendous growth, we have decided that this size maintains the personalization and individual attention that each student deserves. Yui (Siripen Sriyabhaya), Thailand's international TV chef still teaches every dish in every class to guarantee the highest quality of instruction. Her expertise attracts a variety of students such as, TV chefs, executive chefs, culinary school teachers, international Thai cooking instructors, food columnists, cookbook authors, tourists, and food lovers.Yui's unique blend of art and science truly make cooking exciting, fun, and easy to follow. When students cook these delicious dishes in class, they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to be able to recreate these dishes at home.

I cannot hype this place up enough. Beyond being great value (we got a full four courses of food), Yui is deeply passionate about making sure you have a great experience. We learned all about Thai food, we saw where all the food came from at the market, and genuinely had an incredible time. You also get to know all... More

Yui is full of solid food knowledge. If you're a cooking enthusiast she will be able to answer pretty much any questions you might have about cooking and definitely Thai cooking. She's done her homework and most of the prep. Expect to cut your veggies, etc and follow her instructions. You will be cooking your own food at your own... More

My friend and I traveled through Chiang Mai and booked a cooking class at A Lot of Thai. All I can say is, wow! What an amazing and personal experience. What makes this class so unique is that it is taught in the instructor's home. You receive a true Thai experience and create incredible dishes. The owner, Yui is a... More

This was an amazing experience I did with four friends when I visited Chiang Mai. Yui is a natural teacher and makes you feel so comfortable. She's funny, engaging and really teaches you so much about how to use the ingredients and your taste to create delicious meals. It was so fun learning about a dish (we made three dishes)... More

Yui runs the best cooking class we've ever taken - not only did we learn about 8 new Thai dishes, but we had conversations that kept us thinking for days. We discussed our feelings about cooking and eating, many elements of Thai culture, and how food is an important part of our lifestyle. Yui showed us that we can make... More

After much deliberation, I decided to take the course with more "mainstream" dishes, since I figured I was more likely to make it again once I learned how to. At the time we went (Nov 2016), Yui was only offering half day courses. The classes are small (8), maybe because we're limited to how many can fit in their cars.... More

Yui is a natural teacher, she is passionate about her subject (food and cooking), and wildly knowledgeable. I am an intermediate cook; but Yui is a chef. I learned all sorts of things about Thai food and Thai ingredients. But I also learned lots of things about principles of cooking any food. The ingredients, individual cooking stations and finished products... More

I cannot recommend A Lot of Thai cooking class enough! The instructor, Yui, was very knowledgable, not only in cooking techniques, but also in nutrition. The classroom consisted of 8-9 well appointed stations. Each student had use of an apron, cooking utensils & the required ingredients for each of 4 dishes made. The instructor explained & demonstrated the dish &... More

I took 3 days of classes from Yui and each one was fantastic. She really takes the time to teach students the right method, and I've successfully recreated what I made in class at my home! Class sizes are small and and attention is individualized. I also think it's really special that the classes are held at her own home--you... More

We had the honor to experience a full day of cooking with yui and just have to say "wow amazing", couldn't stop laughing - listening and loving the food. She is perfectly fluent in English and cooked all the dishes while we were watching first. Afterwards it was our turn and she helped us through the steps. Everything was super... More
